Wales began their campaign for a third BetVictor World Cup of Darts title on the opening night of the tournament with a 4-1 win over Lithuania.
Jonny Clayton, partnering Nick Kenny in Gerywn Price’s absence, put in a strong performance to top Group C.
The 2026 World Cup will be held in Frankfurt from June 11-14, with all matches broadcast live on Sky Sports.
The four top-ranked countries – England, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland champions and Scotland – have already lost and entered the last 16.
England’s Luke Littler and Luke Humphries lead the way for glory, while Michael van Gerwen joins Gian van Veen of the Netherlands.
Northern Ireland’s Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney are chasing titles, and Gary Anderson is partnering Cameron Menzies on his Scotland debut.
The remaining 36 teams are divided into 12 groups of three, and each winning team advances.
The teams that lost in Thursday’s game will return on Friday afternoon before the group games that will be held on Friday evening. The draw for the last 16 follows that evening, the knockout stage will begin on Saturday, and the final day will be on Sunday June 14.
