The man at the center of the controversy over the murder of Carmelo Anthony was arrested outside the courtroom where Anthony was convicted of murder earlier this week, one of at least two arrests made during the racially charged trial.
Both were arrested shortly after Anthony’s sentencing was announced Tuesday, the Collin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Fox News Digital.
The person involved in the fight, identified as Jerome Winston Parker, was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of a weapon, according to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say the case stems from an incident that allegedly took place in the court’s parking lot during “judgment-related decisions” three days ago on June 6.
Parker was arrested Tuesday and remains in custody on a $1,000 bond.
On Tuesday, he appeared to come face-to-face with a fan of Austin Metcalf, arguing to support Anthony in heated arguments outside the courtroom.

In another arrest, video by FOX 4 it shows a man wearing a pink tie and hangings being arrested outside the courtroom in connection with the alleged assault, according to witnesses.

That man was later identified as Sholdon Daniels, a Republican candidate for Congress in Texas’ 30th Congressional District, who posted a video to X shortly before the alleged incident in which he was wearing the same outfit. According to Daniels’ campaign website, he is a veteran attorney.

Daniels was then arrested and charged with public intoxication, according to jail records obtained by Fox News Digital. He remains in jail on a $500 bond.

Social media posts on Daniels X’s account show him criticizing Anthony’s actions, while pointing to race as a major factor in the controversial murder case.

“I practice law in Collin County, Texas,” Daniels said in one X. “Karmelo Anthony will be found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. As he should be. He killed this boy because he was raised to hate white people and see himself as a victim in every situation. It’s a cultural thing.”

The arrests came amid wild rallies outside the courthouse as it was announced that a jury had found Anthony guilty of murdering Metcalf at a high school reunion in 2025.
Video captured by Fox News Digital shows several fights erupting as Anthony is sentenced to 35 years in prison for killing Metcalf.

Throughout the trial, prosecutors testified that Anthony stabbed Metcalf to death after Metcalf asked him to leave the Memorial High School team tent.
Anthony’s defense insisted that their client defend himself.

However, a Texas jury acquitted Anthony of murder.
