Barcelona captain Ter Stegen will travel to Amsterdam on Monday for Ajax’s medical – reports
After many delays, Marc-Andre ter Stegen is set to complete a move to AFC Ajax after reaching an agreement with FC Barcelona over the outstanding issues that had delayed his move.
Although the German goalkeeper trained under Hansi Flick on Friday, everything now points to him missing Barcelona’s pre-season training camp in England.

The group is scheduled to leave on Monday for St. George’s Park, where it will spend the next phase of its preparations with a number of Barça Atlètic players and young players filling in for those who will be absent after the World Cup.
Status is open
Ter Stegen, who has a contract with Barcelona until June 2028, welcomed the idea of joining Ajax on loan a few weeks ago.
However, the negotiations between the three parties have stalled regarding issues related to this tax and the gatekeeper wanted them to be resolved before approving this measure.

As previously reported, Barcelona presented an improved proposal, which Ter Stegen has now accepted after consulting with his legal advisers. The success has paved the way for the transfer to move to its final stage.

A trip to Amsterdam is expected next week
Although the transfer is not expected to be officially announced over the weekend due to pending paperwork, it is expected to be finalized early next week.
Now, according to SPORT, Ter Stegen plans to travel to Amsterdam on Monday to undergo a medical and begin work under Ajax coach Michel.
If that arrangement is maintained, he will not travel with Barcelona to their pre-season camp in England.
The end of an uncertain chapter
Still the captain of Barcelona’s first team, Ter Stegen lost his place as the team’s first goalkeeper last season after Joan García made himself Hansi Flick’s number one.

His relationship with the club became strained during the campaign, with disagreements during his recovery from a back injury leading to him temporarily losing the captain’s armband before club president Joan Laporta helped to defuse the situation.

After recovering from injury, Ter Stegen made a solitary appearance in the Copa del Rey against Guadalajara before accepting a loan move to Girona in search of regular football.
Michel pushed for the reunion
His performance at Girona was cut short by another injury, as a torn muscle in his left leg required surgery after just two appearances.

Despite his limited playing time, Ter Stegen has impressed Michel, who has requested his signature from Ajax.
Barcelona and the Dutch club have already reached an agreement where the Catalan club will continue to pay more than 80% of the goalkeeper’s salary during the loan period.
Completing the deal early next week is also important for Ajax, as it will allow Ter Stegen to be booked early for the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round.
