US strikes Iran for 9th consecutive night of strikes

This follows the tragic deaths of US military personnel in Iran’s attacks on Jordan and Iraq. The Department of Defense has identified two active duty Army soldiers who were killed during an enemy attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan last week as 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas.
They were the first members of the US to be killed since the war between Iran broke President Donald Trump’s peace deal.
The bodies of a third American service member have been identified, and another was killed Saturday “during unexploded ordnance fire” in northern Iraq, US Central Command said.
The announcement brought the number of US service members killed since the war began to 17, with more than 420 wounded.

The first victims of the renewed conflict were identified as Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, according to Monday’s release. (US Army)
Feehan and Gonzales were victims of Friday’s Iranian attack on Jordan, which is still under investigation. The release of their identities noted that they were in Jordan in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, the international campaign against ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
The campaign has ended operations in Iraq, and the US has been consolidating and transforming its presence in Syria.

Feehan was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Gonzales was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Brigade, 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, in Ansbach, Germany.
The US and Iran have stepped up attacks since a temporary ceasefire agreement signed last month fell apart last week, leading to a return to an endless war.

“Godspeed, heroes,” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth wrote in X. “Their dedication makes our determination harder.”
Trump has authorized nine consecutive days of heavy-handed strikes on the Iranian coast guard and Islamic Revolution Guard Corps forces in defiance of the terms of the defunct memorandum of understanding (MOU), designed to bring about a ceasefire and open the Strait of Hormuz to freedom of navigation.

“We hit them hard again tonight, and we did it to honor these three — maybe three versus two big tyrants,” Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews on Sunday night. “We feel very bad, but you know, those great people, those patriotic people were there fighting that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.”
