Is Lamine Yamal injured in the World Cup final? All possible players for the Spain vs Argentina match

The 2026 World Cup is heading to the final between Argentina and Spain, who will be praying that they don’t suffer an early loss in their quest for world glory.
Spain exited their semi-final defeat to France sweating through two possible injury doubts, with Lamine Yamal and goalscorer Pedro Porro both training without the squad on Thursday.

Lionel Scaloni, on the other hand, looks like he has a fully prepared squad – although the continued absence of Facundo Medina since his exit at the 32nd round may raise questions about whether he can play.

Who could be injured in the World Cup final?
Lamine Yamal (Spain)
Let’s start with the big name who is under threat of injury heading into the finals.
Yamal was one of two Spanish players training away from the team after suffering the following minor problem This is La Roja’s place semi-final against France.
He was wearing a bandage on his thigh, sparking fears that the Spain star will be absent from their earthquake against hosts Argentina.

The Barcelona youngster entered the tournament surrounded by injury uncertainty after suffering a problem in April, but Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has played down concerns that his involvement is at risk and says the move to train him alone was purely precautionary.
“As far as I know, Lamine has nothing serious. I just talked to the medical staff, and everything looks good,” said De la Fuente.

Pedro Porro (Spain)
Like Yamal, Tottenham right-back Porro was forced to train on his own the day after scoring in Spain’s semi-final after it was revealed he was suffering from a “little thing” with his muscles.

He was also tested before the clash with Argentina and after initially explaining that he felt “something was wrong”, he insisted that he had not done anything important: “I am better, I am much better.”
He is expected to start at right back against Argentina.
Pedro Porro beats France in semis (Reuters)
Jeremy Pino (Spain)
Crystal Palace midfielder Pino suffered a collarbone injury against Uruguay on their return from the group stage.
Spain said X-rays showed Pino did not break his collarbone but had an acromioclavicular sprain.
However, he has not played any minutes in Spain since his injury and is unlikely to return for the final.

Victor Munoz (Spain)
Liverpool new signing Munoz has been out of the entire World Cup so far after picking up a calf injury in the build-up to the tournament. He then faced another setback when he was diagnosed with another muscle injury. He will not be in the final.

Facundo Medina (Argentina)
Argentina tested Medina since he limped off with a calf problem in the last match of the last 32 against Cape Verde.

Medina, who started three of Argentina’s first four games at the World Cup, has not featured since the extra-time win and faces competition for a place in the final.
Nicolas Tagliafico will hope to keep his place at left-back after helping Argentina qualify for the knockouts.
