Boxer Hannah Rapp dies after being hit by car as Jake Paul leads ‘hero’ award
American boxer Hannah Rapp died on Saturday after being hit by a car while riding her bicycle.
According to the Sheriff’s Office in Brazos County, Texas, Rapp was hit by a reversing car and taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The 26-year-old had fought one month before, in a program organized by Jake Paul’s company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). WBC featherweight title challenger Tiara Brown, Rapp lost on points as her record drops to 8-1-1 (5 KOs).
Paul, who rose to fame as a boxer turned YouTuber, was among those who mourned Rapp, writing on Instagram: “Congratulations to Hannah’s family, friends and teammates. RIP warrior.”
MVP wrote: “Most Important Promotions is saddened by the passing of Hannah Rapp. Hannah competed at MVPW-04 in Orlando on June 13th and made a lasting impression on everyone who had the chance to meet her.
“Our thoughts are with Hannah’s family, friends, teammates, coaches and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for being a part of her journey and we will honor her memory in the coming weeks. Rest in peace Hannah. She will be greatly missed.”

Brown added: “Where do I start. Hanna was the best dance partner I’ve ever had as a professional. When she asked for my autograph my heart sank because we were preparing for the fight but she still asked for my autograph.”
“It made me smile, we fought a GREAT fight for the fans from the first bell to the last! It was an honor to share the ring with her. And God blessed her with the ability to show her skills to the world on ESPN. Thank you @mostvaluablepromotions for making her and my dreams come true. Hanna will definitely be a champion in heaven and I won’t hold my name up for a long time.”
And WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman said: “I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our champion Hannah Rapp. May she rest in eternal peace.”
The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office shared a press release on Saturday that read: “On Saturday, July 18, 2026, just before 10:00 a.m., Brazos County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 23000 block of FM 159 in reference to a serious accident involving a vehicle and a bicyclist, reporting that the bicyclist had an elderly woman lying in the roadway.

“First responders arrived at the scene and provided first aid before the victim was transported to a local hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, she later passed the hospital. The victim has been identified as Hannah Rapp, 26.”
The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man, was arrested and charged with murder.
“At this time, investigators believe this was an isolated incident,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “The investigation is ongoing and ongoing as detectives continue to gather evidence and review all available information […] The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to the family and friends of Hannah Rapp at this difficult time.”
