WCG Dynasty Fantasy Football: Examining Jacob Infante’s List

Let’s take a look at the roster from the most famous (not famous?) member of the WCG Dynasty Fantasy Football League, who might be Jacob Infante.
We know Jacob well from his outstanding coverage of the NFL Draft and his unique social media presence. Jacob joined the league this year, so his inclusion on this list so far has been a priority. He has a long plan ahead of him. You have a list that needs some help. The way he works this roster back into contention should be interesting over the next few seasons.

Let’s look at the list:
Let’s take a look at this plan and start at QB. Jared Goff is an underrated QB1 in this league, and I think we can still call Aaron Rodgers a QB2, but having a backup QB north of 40 years old with no developing QBs behind him is certainly an issue that Jacobs needs to address.
There isn’t nearly enough depth in the back room. David Montgomery is a solid RB2, and Bijan Robinson is a stud RB1. The big question here is: will Jacob trade Robinson for a ton of draft picks and young players? He can try to hang on to him, but he is the biggest asset on this list.

The spacious reception room is a debacle. Putting in two rookies was much needed there, and we all know DJ Moore will be a solid contributor. But most of these other guys aren’t going to put up big numbers and aren’t going to collect a lot of draft assets when they’re traded. It definitely needs work.
The tight end is decent. Travis Kelce doesn’t have much life left in those legs, Freermuth is a starter, and maybe Ferguson and Arroyo can develop into fantasy tight ends.
Moving on to the defensive side of the ball, Quinnen Williams is definitely another bargain because DTs who can score can be hard to come by in this league. I liked Darius Robinson out of Missouri, but he wasn’t able to produce much at the NFL level. We’ll see if he can put it together; same goes for Sanders.
The Edge Room is in a tough spot. Pearce looked like he was on his way, but we’ll see what happens with his off-field issues; he could see a big suspension this year. Mesidor and Jacas put some youth in this room that really needs it. Mack isn’t the player he once was, but he can still get you 10 points and he can’t put together those big 30-point games anymore.

At linebacker, Fred Warner is a beast and another asset Jacob could trade for. Wagner was still very productive last year, but he’s obviously reached an age where that could change at any time. Singleton and Barton are both decent, but there is a serious lack of depth here.
There are a lot of depth issues in most position groups, and you can see it’s because of the allocation of CBs on the roster. 8 CBs currently on the roster, including drafting two rookies when you have 6 on the roster, something I think needs to change before we head into the first week of the season.
Safety is another area that could use some big scorers, but there are bigger issues on the roster that you need to focus on before you worry about finding safeties that can average 12-15 points per game.
The list that Jacob inherited is not good enough yet. I think this team needs a major rebuild and should trade up for draft picks. If he plays his cards right, he can stack some players and get himself 5 or 6 first round picks, or at least first 3 or 4 and 3 or 4 seconds. I see no other path to future success than to strip this thing down.
