Cubs Minor League wrap: Hartshorn homers again, ho hum

I’m running out of things to say about Josiah Hartshorn. The only thing I can compare him to is Kris Bryant, but Bryant was just out of college and 22 years old when he hit .355 with 22 home runs in 68 games for Double-A Tennessee in 2014.

Left hand Luke Little demoted to Double-A Knoxville from Triple-A Iowa.

No one is lost! I can’t say everyone won.

Iowa Cubs

The Iowa Cubs were tied by the Louisville Bats (Reds), 4-4.

Before I get into the numbers, let me explain that Iowa scored five runs in the top of the tenth and James Triantos hit three home runs. But the rains came and washed out the bottom of the tenth, so the score returned to a 4-4 tie.

The beginner Doug Nikhazy he went four innings and allowed two runs on three hits. He hit six and walked nobody. Both of Nikhazy’s runs came on a fourth inning home run by Héctor Rodríguez.

A middle player James Triantos was 2 for 4 with two runs scored. It would have been five if it hadn’t rained when it did.

Right winger Justin Dean He went 2 for 4 with a walk and a steal. He also had a two-run single in the tenth.

Here is Triantos’ two-run single.
