Columnist says US already lost World Cup because of ‘greed and hostility’
Fox & Friends First hosts address Nancy Armor’s USA Today column criticizing the US for being “greedy and hostile” ahead of the World Cup, saying it means they’ve already lost. Former US Soccer Council member Seth Jahn disagrees with the writer’s opinion, insisting that FIFA sets ticket prices and that national pride should come first. He also criticized the conflict between politics and sports.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is officially underway, as fans from all over the world descend on North America to watch the great game.
With that, many people who have never seen America up close get a first-hand account of how great this country can be if you really stop and embrace all it has to offer.

The internet became intimately familiar with a German fan named Freddy documenting his travels in the American South, but everyone’s favorite dude from Deutschland isn’t the only foreign soccer fan to have the United States in awe.
While pickup trucks, country music and trips to Hooters may be familiar to many of you reading this, for a British fan who took a trip to the beautiful US-of-A, it was a mind-blowing experience that few Europeans could understand.

He probably went from eating fish and chips with a side of mashed peas to taking off a winged basket surrounded by beautiful women.

You may not know this, but refills are not free in many European countries.

But nothing compares to the pure joy the Scottish man experienced when he headed to the mecca of gas stations: Buc-ee’s.
If you’ve never been to one, you’re missing out, but I’ll let our Scottish guest here explain, in detail, what’s so amazing about this form of capitalism.
“A gas station mixed with Disney World wrapped in a gift shop,” is an apt description of Buc-ee’s, I don’t think I could have done a better job myself.
Speaking of Scotland, what about the Scots who rented a house in Boston for the World Cup and decided to share the song of their people with other neighbors at 6 in the morning?
And I’m not talking about a Bluetooth speaker, either.
Their weapon of choice? Pipes.

If I had to be woken up by music, I’d probably take the bagpipes over Taylor Swift or Bad Bunny, so good on these Scots for a change.
And it’s not just Europeans.

I bet they don’t have Nashville hot chicken or GooGoo Clusters at home.
Just unbelievable.
This is really what the World Cup is all about, showing visitors all the best our country has to offer.

Like I said before, you don’t have to be from Europe or Japan to enjoy what we have here in the United States.

It has become almost “fashionable” to dismiss America as a wasteland or cultureless, but there is so much beauty everywhere.
I hope that at the end of this year’s World Cup, everyone will have their eyes open to the fact that this country is great, and it shouldn’t take a lot of tourists to tell us that.
