Nelly Korda is officially the most important US female golfer in modern history, WVU guy’s raccoon & lobster

It’s time to get back into the swing of things with the Monday Screencaps series that celebrates what we’re seeing in the world of women’s golf where we officially have a female US champion. On Sunday at the Riviera, Nelly Korda took a big step toward becoming the face of US women’s golf for the next 50 years by winning her first US Women’s Open title, now her first real women’s golf title.

We won’t count out the women’s PGA Championship she won in 2021. I don’t know what the Chevron Championship is, so it’s not as big a deal as Wikipedia assures me it is. That all changed on Sunday. A straight, white female golfer, who posts bikini photos and has expressed admiration for Donald Trump’s granddaughter, is at the top of the golf world.

Let this sink in: Only five US women’s golfers have reached No. 1 in the world since the women’s world golf ranking was first released 20 years ago. Korda is currently number 1. In the US Open, American golfers have won the title nine times this century. South Korea has won it 10 times.

American women’s golf officially has its own Tiger Woods, minus the marriage and car drama.

No, I didn’t get shot in Toledo this weekend

I know some of you have been wondering if I was caught up in the mass shooting at the Toledo festival. Trust me, I wouldn’t walk into this place unless I was on a mission involving a SWAT team story. Besides what the Elite Whites who live in 120 year old houses will tell you, it’s a perfect war zone where this went down. Teenagers run guns and don’t think twice about pulling out their weapons.

– Jim T. in San Diego writes: I hope you weren’t in Toledo today. Terrible things.

Kinsey: No, I was on the south side of the Maumee River enjoying a beautiful Saturday night in the yard listening to Yacht Rock and looking at Mrs. Screencaps.

Me and Mrs. Screencaps we celebrated our wedding day by choosing a 400 lb stone.

The final total, with shipping, for the rock, the huge rock we needed to block the road, and a few more rocks to fill the gaps came to $450 and change. Could we spend money on a hotel room for a weekend getaway? Yes, but now we have a big rock to enjoy for years, and years to come.

Trust me, two nights at a Lake Michigan hotel can be fun, but then you go home with a few pictures. Now we have a rock for life. This stone will be the stone that will always restore our marriage for years to come.

I will post pictures when it arrives this week. After all, a 400-pound rock isn’t as big as it sounds.

A Screencaps reader shares the story of hitting a parked car in St. Andrews

– Michael’s Utah emails: On the 18th at the Old Course in St. Andrews I hit a crazy piece where he hit a van parked on the street and went back and played. I asked my caddy if I should leave a note and he said, “No, they shouldn’t park there.” My 3-iron from the fairway might be the shakiest golf swing I’ve ever hit. He saved the bogey.

Kinsey: A true story from Sunday. I was playing neighbors when we got to 18th place. I say to my cartner, who is a merchant on the side, that no one can hit the house on the left with a drive. We agreed it was too far left to be safe, but we still had a good view of the course.

Then, our neighbor Mike, who didn’t hear that conversation, climbs up on the tee box and hits a proper rocket to the left and right into the roof of the attached barn. If it had hit the ground, it would have sounded like a rocket exploding in Iran.

It’s a shot I’ll never forget. I’m still trying to figure out how Mike manages to turn his body to the left and keep the club face closed at the same time with one of the best shots of the house I’ve ever seen.

– Voiceover Guy Mike L. tells us: I’ve never hit a truck or a car while playing golf, but I’ve tagged a house before. I was playing in a tournament and our foursome was on the 1st tee. My friend and I decided to go together, he’s right and I’m left-handed. His went down the road and mine made a nice arch to the left, then hit the house. Hit a quick second and the others hit and we go down to our balls. Luck was with us that day, no one was yelling at us for being bad golfers. Also, as a side note, I never mark my balls.

America’s men’s national team is saving the world with its gay pride unit in Chicago

– Mike from West Lafayette, IN checks in: I took the family to see US v. Germany at Soldier Field Saturday. Great weather, great weather, and a great game. The only problem was all the pride stuff from the American football association. The US soccer logo was redesigned from red, white, and blue to a rainbow color. The numbers on the back of the player’s jerseys were rainbows, and there were always pride/rainbow images from the jumbotron. Then you look around, and not one person (65,000) at the game is wearing anything rainbow or pride themed. There is no one. There is no need for this, forced upon us by the leaders of our culture. We go to enjoy the game, they tell us how to enjoy it.

FOX NEWS SPORTS HUDDLE NEWSLETTER: LPGA TOUR GENDER APPROPRIATE POLICY GOALS ‘PLAYERS ASSIGNED MALE AT BIRTH’

It got me thinking about the reach and impact of your column (and Outkick as a whole). You could declare July as Heritage Month and start a whole movement. Traditional values such as: traditional families, small, low government taxeshard work, good grass, cold beers, trust in God, manhood, being a good Dad… I think it will go well with the 4th of July 250. Great work as always, love the column.

Kinsey: In a twist, it doesn’t look like Germany celebrated gay pride in the game. Do Germans hate gays because they didn’t change their jersey colors to the Alphabet Mafia rainbow color scheme? Tell me.
