President Marcos witnesses the landmark MoU signing between Ayala, Globe, Mitsubishi, and KDDI on the Philippines’ first Intelligent City initiative

Four industry leaders, Ayala Corporation, Globe Telecom, Mitsubishi Corporation, and KDDI Corporation, have come together to pioneer the country’s first Smart City, with Makati CBD as the designated pilot. The project will use data, digital technology, and advanced communications to redefine the way Filipinos live, work, and thrive in urban areas.
This initiative will demonstrate Globe’s consistent and reliable network and empower the ecosystem of sectors to bring the Intelligent City vision to life. These include advances in mobility, retail, energy, and communication, coupled with the development of smart city platforms that integrate data and AI solutions.
“Ayala Corp. has always believed in building communities that elevate lives. With this initiative, we are reimagining Makati CBS as a hub of innovation, where technology and human connection come together to create a city that truly works for its people,” said President and CEO Cesar Consing.
The partnership will also use technologies such as the Internet of Things that will integrate artificial intelligence into practical, everyday use. Together, these focal points form the foundation for building smarter, more sustainable, and resilient urban communities.
