Cowboys Headlines: FIFA to use curtains at World Cup; Another international tour coming up?

First, the temporary installation of real grass. And now this. AT&T Stadium has already made a major deal with FIFA to host this summer’s World Cup games by putting in a temporary turf field, something Cowboys players have wanted for years. Now word has come that at least one match will see the venue tear down its rarely seen curtains (yes, they do exist) to reduce the blinding glare that pours through the glass walls in the west end. It’s FIFA’s call, not Jerry Jones’ decision… but expect the Cowboys owner to hear something new about the ongoing (and easily rectified) issue.
Jones made headlines again this week by downplaying a brutal travel schedule that will affect or end the team’s Week 3 trip to Rio de Janeiro. It’s probably wise to start getting used to long plane rides and late prep weeks, though; The new rule will prevent future opponents from “blocking” a lucrative home date with the top-ranked Cowboys when it comes to international games. That will mean more foreign players for the Cowboys as a visiting team if the league sees fit.

And in Wednesday’s news, a closer look at how the Cowboys will rest better than their opponent in every game but one this season, a deep dive into what Kenny Clark brings to the table in his second season as a Cowboy, big predictions for Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence, and the first date has been set for the new season of the Dallas Cowders Cheerleaders.
We will once again take a trip through the NFC East. One NFL insider is so sure about the AJ Brown trade to Philly that he’s booking his personal time about his prediction. The Giants’ Cam Skattebo is making bold plans to do something that only nine other men in league history have done, and Washington’s Terry McLaurin is excited about the big jump in his career, as promised publicly by none other than his new coordinator. (Opposing defenses should also take note.)
Wednesday’s league headlines were led by Aaron Rodgers… for what will be one of the last times; The 42-year-old has announced that 2026 will be his last year in uniform. The Raiders, meanwhile, are getting a look at their new quarterback … and he’s everything advertised. In the end, Seattle’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba left many of his rivals behind last season, but also caused a lot of confusion for whoever wrote the nameplate on his year-end trophy. After further review, the Seahawks receiver will get a do-over.
