White will take over from two-time state champion Winslow

The two-time defending NJSIAA state champion Winslow Eagles football program has a new leader.
The Winslow board approved Jamal White as its next coach at its monthly meeting this week. White is known as an offensive guru, having served as an offensive coordinator at Timber Creek and, most recently, Woodbury.

“Oh man, this is amazing,” said Mhlophe. “This is definitely something that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time now. For it to come out now and to be in this position, especially in this place, it’s really amazing. It’s really exciting. I mean it’s a lot, but it’s great right now.”
White is a Triton High School graduate who went on to have a Towson University Hall-of-Fame career as a wide receiver. As an offensive coordinator, White contributed to three division titles at Timber Creek and three more, as well as a true state title, in the same role at Woodbury.
White is a special education teacher at a middle school in Williamstown.
“I’ve been blessed to coach under great coaches like Rob Hinson and Anthony Reagan,” said White. “Continuing the craft that those guys have excelled at, learning to instill the same ethics and culture and love that they’ve shown to their players. Getting them through college and really showing them the true mentorship and true love of manhood. I’m excited to be able to now take some of the things that they taught me and use some of their ways and some of my ways as well.”

The Group 4 state champion Eagles finished 12-2 last season after an undefeated run in 2024. Former coach Bill Belton has stepped down and accepted a similar position at St. Augustine.
“I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to talk to all the members of the team,” said White. “A lot of boys are doing other sports, which I encourage a lot, and I hope they will continue to do it. I had the opportunity to talk to a good background of the team. We are in the process of organizing a night where I will meet all the parents and talk to the boys who are thinking about going out and being part of this program that we want to continue to take to the next level.”
Instead of coaching White first, he will be charged with maintaining a culture that builds winning football teams and productive community members.
“The biggest thing I’m looking forward to is producing young men,” said White. “To get them into college, and to be important people in the community, not just football players. I’m looking forward to developing as boys to become young men, and develop a good foundation for that.”
