Bayern Munich news: Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea all want Anthony Gordon; FC Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski headed for divorce?; and more!

Bayern Munich have made Newcastle United striker Anthony Gordon their priority in the summer transfer market, but the Bavarians are not alone – far from it:

It would be true that Barcelona would like to sign Anthony Gordon. Agents make a lot of calls, a lot of meetings, in Europe. There was a meeting with Chelsea, contact with Liverpool, contact with Arsenal… they were allowed to do that, knowing that Newcastle needed money this summer to stay on the right side of Financial Fair Play. Barcelona have been given a player, but they can’t afford the kind of transfer fee we were talking about. On the other hand, Bayern can pay this if they wish. So it’s interesting to see who joins the poker table. I personally fear Chelsea a lot, as they have the resources to make a deal.

Not to mention, they could use Nicolas Jackson as leverage in a potential transfer deal (and we know Newcastle are interested in the Senegal international). But, I think Bayern Munich still have a good chance to make this deal, as they are still very early in the market for Gordon. They can count on fellow England player Harry Kane to tell the 25-year-old how good life in Munich is!

Chelsea are the biggest threat, but Arsenal and Liverpool could make strong claims in England. If Gordon has doubts about jumping abroad, his domestic options may be attractive. With Bayern Munich appearing to have swooped in on the 25-year-old, the club are hoping that is not the case.

Former Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso is on Chelsea’s radar, but Liverpool are also – allegedly – keeping an eye on the former Bayern Munich midfielder.

With Arne Slot on the move, could Liverpool want to make an early move to avoid missing out on Alonso? Possible:

Liverpool have contacted Real Madrid officials to dispel any doubts they may have had about the possible appointment of Xabi Alonso to replace Arne Slot as head coach this summer. With Slot under pressure, officials from Anfield have been calling for background checks on a number of options, including Alonso. The former Liverpool midfielder was sacked by Real Madrid after six months in charge, changing the perception of his success at Bayer Leverkusen in his previous role. The 44-year-old has been linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea.

RB Leipzig are always in a state of flux and could be looking to lose two defenders this summer:

RB Leipzig are preparing to make more moves in the defenders area this summer, based on the latest Sky Germany update. The club does not agree with the departure of Castello Lukeba, and the player himself is ready for a new challenge.

Lukeba’s release clause stands at 80 million euros, but the Saxony club will agree to negotiate for 60 million euros. Transfermarkt.com is linking the 23-year-old with a host of clubs including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Arsenal.

There could also be a move to include El Chadaille Bitshiabu after the French defender considered leaving last winter. Because of this, nothing can be released in the summer, however Leipzig would like to keep Bitshiabu, but they are not ruling out a transfer.

❌ NOT TRUE: Dušan Vlahović is on Bayern’s radar. Bayern think they are the most expensive option to pursue at this time. Salary will be a big issue for the team if they can sign him. So he is not in the list of three players that are being talked about inside the club. There is still hope for Yan Diomande at Bayern, but he would also cost a fortune. So, Bayern still have their Plan A for Anthony Gordon.

Just a few days back, we learn that Bayern Munich had already spoken to Vlahović’s father about a possible move. What gives?
