Even after 28 days, the strike at Samsung Electronics’ Sriperumbudur plant remains unresolved. Sources with knowledge of the talks between the state government, workers, and the company accuse the Center of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), the union leading the protests, of collusion.
According to a government source, although the company has shown willingness to work with its workers and accept their important demands, it is CITU that is interfering with the decision. “CITU wants their union to be recognized and insists that negotiations should be held only with their leaders, not Samsung workers,”
