Party Rock Anthem singer Lauren Bennett has died aged 36

Party Rock Anthem singer Lauren Bennett, who was also a member of the group GRL, has died in England, reports the BBC. He was 36 years old.
Bennett reportedly died on May 29 in Meopham, Kent, about an hour outside of London. Investigators have scheduled an inquest for October.
The circumstances surrounding the death of the British singer were not immediately available.

Bennett’s father, Richard, wrote of his “huge disappointment” at the UK’s national health system which “failed to treat him properly” after Bennett was suspected of having a “severe reaction” to prescription drugs.
“It is with a broken heart that I share the loss of my beautiful and talented daughter, @laurenbennett, the love of my life and my pride and joy,” Richard shared online. “Lauren was an amazing person and artist: creative, talented, funny, and as humble as she was beautiful.”

“He was loved by all who knew him and had a lasting impact on countless lives through his music, his kindness, and the way he made people feel.”
Richard said his daughter was “very gifted” from a young age, and that her success in the music industry was “beyond our wildest dreams and continues to make me very proud.”
“In the months before her death, Lauren suffered an adverse reaction to the medication she was prescribed,” he continued. “We are a family and we all met him and did everything we could to support him.

“We have no suspicions about the circumstances of his death, it is just a huge disappointment that, for five months, medical professionals and NHS services failed to treat him properly at a time when he needed it most.”

He added, “His legacy lives on through his daughter, his family, and the music he left behind.”

GRL first confirmed his death in a post shared Monday on Instagram, and wrote, “Our hearts are broken, and we can’t begin to express how much you meant to us.”
“We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and loved forever.”

They added, “Rest in peace, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts. Your GRLs, Em, Tash, and P.”

Bennett first gained fame singing on LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem,” a major dance hit that Billboard once named her fifth-best-selling single of all time. The music video has over two billion hits on YouTube.
She joined GRL in 2014 with Paula Van Oppen, Natasha Slayton, Simone Battle, and Emmalyn Estrada, and the group released their hit single, “Ugly Heart,” in 2014.
