Sony celebrates the 1000X decade with the creation of a premium headphone

1000X COLLECTION

Sony Philippines marked 10th anniversary of its 1000X headphone by introducing the new 1000X THE COLLECTION in the Philippines as its latest flagship model.

The 1000X range traces its roots to the launch of the MDR-1000X in 2016 and has built a reputation in the premium personal audio segment. 1000X THE COLLECTION carries that legacy forward by combining Sony’s latest audio technology with refined materials and design intended for everyday use.

As part of the festival, Sony made a presentation with an intensive event that introduced the guests to the philosophy of the new headphones while recalling the milestone of the 1000X series.

The evening began with a ballet-inspired production that featured music paired with visual storytelling to introduce the latest model.

Sony officials, led by Shuhei Sugihara, president and managing director of Sony Philippines, and Kentaro Imamura, marketing director of Sony Philippines, welcomed the guests and discussed the company’s vision for its premium headphones and its commitment to deliver a superior listening experience.

The night continued with a live performance by the A-Team, alongside a fashion presentation highlighting headphone-inspired beauty. Fashion designer Gian Romano styled the show using his signature avant-garde designs, which complement the premium aesthetic of 1000X THE COLLECTION.

Sony expanded the discussion beyond product specifications with a panel moderated by Rammy Bitong that explored the relationship between sound and creativity across different industries.

The session featured fashion designer Rajo Laurel, entrepreneur and lifestyle celebrity Mika Lagdameo, art director Daryl Chang, and Chairman of AGC Power Holdings Corp. and CEO Archie Carrasco. Panelists shared how sound influences their creative thinking, productivity, business, and personal expression while discussing how new headphones fit into both their professional responsibilities and daily routines.

Also, during the event, guests explored an interactive installation that gave a closer look at the technology behind 1000X THE COLLECTION.

The Tech Showcase Lounge presented the engineering, design philosophy, and technological innovations incorporated into the headphones to better understand the development process behind Sony’s new flagship model.

The Soundscapes immersive booth, on the other hand, demonstrated the capabilities of the headphones with synchronized music and visuals so visitors could see how the device works in all different listening situations.

Sony has positioned the 1000X THE COLLECTION as a product that places equal emphasis on art and performance.

The headphones feature premium metal detailing and refined faux leather that took two years of development. The ergonomic design supports extended listening sessions, while the Black and White color options give the headphones a clean and understated look for professional and personal settings.

The design also reflects Sony’s effort to pair premium materials with long-lasting comfort, making the headphones ideal for users who spend long hours listening to music, working remotely, or on the go.

At the core of the 1000X THE COLLECTION is a suite of audio technologies that build on Sony’s expertise in premium personal listening.

The headphones feature a bespoke driver unit designed to produce detailed sound across a wide range. Sony also includes DSEE Ultimate powered by Edge-AI, which restores compressed digital audio in real-time to produce more detail in music files.

The product includes advanced 360 Reality Audio Upmix technology that expands stereo content into a more immersive listening experience, alongside Sony’s noise cancellation technology designed to reduce external distractions and allow listeners to focus on entertainment or work.

With this technology at hand, the 1000X THE COLLECTION offers premium headphones to consumers looking for both high-quality sound reproduction and practical features for everyday listening.

Since introducing the MDR-1000X, Sony has expanded the series with successive generations introducing new advances in wireless audio, noise cancellation, and user comfort.

The latest flagship continues that progression by combining premium construction with updated listening technology while maintaining the design philosophy that has defined the system over the past decade.

Therefore, Sony shows its intention to build on the reputation established by the 1000X series while responding to changing consumer expectations for premium personal audio products.

1000X THE COLLECTION is now available at authorized Sony dealers nationwide for a suggested retail price of P36,999.
