In an interview with the Ruthless Podcast, the composer of the music for the “Halo” video game series and congressional candidate, Marty O’Donnell, said he wants to bring government back to normal.
“What I hear a lot is that what the Democrats are trying to push is nonsense,” O’Donnell said in an interview released Thursday morning. “They don’t have a great agenda, but what they’re proposing is ridiculous. And I like the idea as a gamer and as someone who has multiplayer as my fan base. I like the idea of ’Revenge of the Nerds,’ but I think within a year, it might be ‘Revenge of the Normies.’
O’Donnell, who recorded with Paul McCartney of the Beatles, won the award Republican primary earlier this month in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District. O’Donnell will face Rep. Susie Lee, D-Nev., in the Nov. 3 general election.
Lee a little won re-election in 2024 in the Las Vegas district was also won by President Donald Trump.

Podcast host Comfortably Smug noted how the recent election results in New York show the Democratic Party is moving to the left, and Lee is an example of this trend.

“We’re seeing that party move forward and forward and left at an incredible rate,” Smug told O’Donnell. “And the majority of the Democrats in Washington are basically just like fully committed to it. Susie Lee is a great example of someone who is not a leader, who doesn’t have Nevada’s best interests at heart. This is someone who wants to stay in power, she will do whatever it takes, she will listen to whatever the Democrats in Washington want her to do.”
O’Donnell received a coveted endorsement from Trump ahead of the primary.
“I’m looking at what Trump is doing, and if you thought there was legal chaos and prosecutions four years ago, whatever it was, six years ago now,” O’Donnell said of the current political moment. “It’s just going to be, you know, ten times if we don’t catch it in the middle of the season.”

Podcast host John Ashbrook noted how Nevada’s unique entertainment industry makes O’Donnell’s profile a perfect match for the state.

“I think what’s most exciting about your appointment is how relevant your work is to this district,” Ashbrook said. “I mean, you have a district full of small business people, sole proprietors, people who have been in the tourism industry, people who have been in the entertainment industry, and now they have the opportunity to be represented by a young man in their midst.”
The interview took place as part of Ruthless Midterm Interview SeriesIt’s a step in the right direction to engage with great people across the country. Hosts have already interviewed candidates in 16 states, with more planned ahead of the November mid-terms.

“I love my county, three of my grandchildren were born here in the county,” said O’Donnell. “I can’t imagine them growing up in a district with Democrats and Susie Lee in charge.”
