Current/former Miami Dolphins player you would most like to dine with

This past week, I asked the following question:
Which former or current Miami Dolphins player or coach would you like, if given the chance, to sit down or have dinner with to ask those questions you’ve always wanted to ask or just to get a chance for a nice, long conversation?
Below are some of your thoughts and responses-

gertdoggy would like to join Ricky in one of his extracurricular activities.
Person: Ricky Williams Question: Can you pass the join?
finfanfromsiam he wants to ask Marino if he is upset about not getting the ring.
Dan Marino, are you mad at Shula for not getting the defense and running the game to get you a ring?
heatforlife you want to know how the sauce is made.
the 1973 Miami Dolphins No Name Defense is one of only six defensive units in NFL history to lead the league in points and yards allowed in a season. How bill arsnparger took a bunch of absentees and turned them into a historic defense,
Miami7 talked to several Dolphins veterans but still wants to talk to Warfield.
I would like to meet and chat with Paul Warfield – The reason I became a Dolphins fan at age 11 and my favorite NFL player of all time. I’ve had 2 meetings/conversations with Marino (one was very drunk w/Jim Kelly), 1 with Shula, 1 with Zach, 1 with JT & T-Buck, spent the night with Pete Stoyanovich & weeks worth of rehearsals in Ft. Lauderdale and Mark Dennis.
I missed opportunities to meet ‘other heroes of my life….
Mickey Mantle (missed opp. by about 3 minutes @ Cooperstown one year to at least meet him)
Walt (Clyde) Frazier
* Met and played (about 20 minutes of practice) with Bob McAdoo
….and The 3 Stooges & Salvadore Dali
Oldermyguy I would like to sit down with Bryan Cox.
Bryan Cox. He loved her strong playing style.
sdphinsfan he wishes he had the chance to talk to MBUZI, Don Shula.
He would have to be a builder, Don Shula. I don’t think any coach has ever found players he could buy at the level he did, and was able to change the way he played the game to develop the talent he had to work with. It just seems like a good life story…Also, I have to know….What was the whole Tom Olivadatti thing? Did he keep secrets from you?
PA phinphan would like to ask Duhe about the greatest play in Dolphins history.
I would like to sit down with AJ Duhe. I was asking him about the mud bowl and what it’s like to pick up not one, not two, but three Jests in one game and return one for a TD.
OldFinFanDon wants to ask Marino what he would have done if he had had more say in the creation of the roster at that time.
Dan Marino. I would like to know, if he had more power in this draft, what reverse would he have written.
Old Ash you just know that Ricky will come up with good things.
Ricky Williams. At least he would bring some nice smoke to the conversation.
Ksphinfan I would like to ask Nathan what it was like to play for two of the greatest coaches of all time.
Tony Nathan just to see what it was like to play for both Bear Bryant and Don Shula…2 of the greatest football coaches of all time.
Phoenix6 you’ll check out the free food from Zach.
Zach Thomas
Dinner, restaurant, you pay.
“What was the biggest physical and mental adjustment you had to make to survive your rookie season?”
“What was THE [Welcome to the NFL] time you saw as a player?”
Molly Polly II you missed the opportunity to talk to two veterans together.
Shula and Marino…..no questions, I want to hear any secret football stories that we never got to or heard on the news!🐬🐬🐬
UpInPensacola He just wants to finish the speech he started on the field.
Thomas Hollywood Henderson.
Before his last game with the Dolphins vs KC early in the season in the early 80s the defense was warming up in the west end. I yelled at Hollywood.
“Hey Hollywood! Well done!”
He turned and smiled widely, and replied, “I know!”
Later that night he injured his neck and never played again.
I’d like to end that conversation over dinner.
Flipper72 there are a few they would like to talk to.
You can’t choose one
Bob Griese and Larry Csonka.
I had to ask them about the good old days and the star that was put in Don Shula’s shower!
What was that undefeated season like.
I know you didn’t say coach but Don Shula
And Joe Rose!!
Many more.
Well, that’s a solid list of former Miami Dolphins heroes. I hope that some of you will have the opportunity to meet at least some of those who are still with us. As always, thanks to all of you who took the time to answer our Phinsider Question of the Day.
