UFC Fight Night predictions, odds, fight card for Song Yadong vs. Deiveson Figueiredo

Song Yadong and Deiveson Figueiredo are fighting to keep their bantamweight aspirations alive. Both men flew just outside the elite after UFC 324 in January. After Saturday’s main event of UFC Fight Night in China, only one of them will move forward in the desired way.
Yadong believers (22-9-1, 1 NC) always expect to win. Team Alpha Male’s product has all the ingredients, but falls short when compared to the best. Yadong, 28, still has time to develop into a title contender, but the most important thing is that he taps into his true potential. He fights the former champion in the main event on his home turf. Everything follows an outstanding performance from a significant betting favorite. He must release.
“I’m really close with these guys,” Song told CBS Sports HQ’s Brian Campbell on Tuesday. “I lost because of small points. I could have won every fight, even Petr Yan’s [fight]. I could have. But I learned a lot from those battles. I believe I’ll be back soon and I’m only one or two fights away from winning the title.”

Figueiredo (25-6-1) has a short entry window at 38. He is active, but running out of time to win the second division title. He and Yadong, who is 10 years his junior, suffered similar recent losses. Both lost to reigning UFC champion Petr Yan and title contender Cory Sandhagen. At UFC 324, Figueiredo lost to top contender Umar Nurmagomedov, and former champion O’Malley killed Yadong. Saturday’s players are in the same position, but Figueiredo has time to deal with him. He is preparing not only with eagerness, but also with anger after Yan recently referred to Saturday’s heads as his “kids”.
“Petr Yan is a son of a bitch. He keeps saying that,” Figueiredo told CBS Sports through a Portuguese translator. “In our first fight I put him down. In the next fight I will put him down.”
Elsewhere on Saturday, veteran light heavyweight Alonzo Menifield looks to get back on track when he takes on rising Chinese prospect Zhang Mingyang. Menifield suffered a brutal first round loss in November against Volkan Oezdemir. The win ended a brief two-game winning streak that allowed America to build momentum. Now, he is looking to return to form against Mingyang, who suffered a knockout loss to Johnny Walker last August.
In addition, former interim heavyweight champion Sergei Pavlovich looks set to maintain his momentum against Tallison Teixeira. Pavlovich suffered back-to-back losses to Tom Aspinall and Alexander Volkov in November 2023 and June 2024 to slow his rapid rise to heavyweight. Two victories in 2025 over Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Waldo Cortes-Acosta helped repeat it. Teixeira is looking to improve on a decision win over Tai Tuivasa in February.

Prediction
Song Yadong vs. Deiveson Figueiredo: Yadong believes that he uses the advantage of speed and power. I agree. Figueiredo made a name for himself as “The God of War” with a heartbreaking stoppage in the flyweight division. He holds the record for most strikes and the second finish at 125 pounds. However, declining size and age have muted his pop at bantamweight. Figueiredo will struggle more at boxing range, but that’s one of the many issues. Figueiredo used to train with Team Alpha Male, his rival team. Yadong’s corner knows Figueiredo’s game well. The guillotine is among Figueiredo’s best weapons, but few martial arts masters are better at squeezing him than Yadong’s trainer, Urijah Faber. Yadong’s mature, well-rounded game and youthful athleticism are beyond the capabilities of the former flyweight champion. I give Figueiredo enough credit to last 25 minutes, but don’t discount the knockout loss. Either way, it feels like this is Figueiredo’s final stage as a potential superstar. Vote: Yadong by unanimous decision
