PharmaServ Express offers medication delivery – just a tap away

PharmaServ Express recently launched a unique consumer app that delivers medicines directly to Filipino homes with just a tap on a smart phone.

The PharmaServ Express application uses its core specialization in cold chain logistics to deliver a promise to patients: that every medicine deserves to be delivered with care with full temperature control, real-time monitoring, and the guarantee that what arrives at your door is exactly what your doctor ordered. PharmaServ Express President Andrian Perez shares, “What we built for healthcare facilities, we are now making it available to every home in the Philippines. Providing equipment is one thing but delivering world-class service to our fellow citizens is another. This app is our answer to long-standing problems—long lines at the pharmacy, incomplete medications, before we can get the patient’s medications we know how to get them. to deliver whenever and wherever patients need medications of themselves, so that they can focus on what is most important: recovery.”

In the recent Tech in Wellness conference organized by Business World which had the theme “Rethinking Healthcare Access in the Philippines”, Dr. Salvador Pedro Rebullida, the Medical Director of PharmaServ Express, commented on the positive change in access to health care that is gradually closing with the cooperation of both the government and the private sector. “The gap (of access to health care) is gradually being closed by the government, private institutions, and health promoters ….” He reiterated that access to medicine, in particular, is a global health care problem because it involves the economy, health care infrastructure, and public health. And when it fails, the consequences involve the lives of civilians.

The PharmaServ Express program is a clear example of how that gap is being closed by the private sector. The app currently offers a wide variety of features ranging from the fulfillment of prescription drugs, medical supplies and personal products, available at select patient pharmacies within Metro Manila and nearby areas; expert care from online pharmacists that ensure patients receive the right medication every time, with expert guidance built into the platform; quality assurance for each order, packed in temperature-controlled cold boxes and equipped with a data recorder that tracks the temperature of the medicine throughout the delivery journey.

Dr. Rebullida also highlighted in his discussion a common misconception that people have about the delivery of medicines – the idea that medicines are just like normal goods that can be transported by our standard delivery or courier service and that they can be stored like normal products at normal room temperature. “Although there are certain medicines that do not require special treatment, many medicines require strict temperature control or what we call ‘.cold chain‘, especially vaccines,” according to Dr. Rebullida. He raised the point that a slight change in temperature of these types of drugs can make them ineffective. With e-commerce delivery applications designed specifically for drugs like PharmaServ Express, that problem will be prevented.

The PharmaServ Express delivery app currently operates within Metro Manila and nearby areas in Rizal.
