Hasan Piker says the feds are targeting Singham’s non-profit political network

NEWNow you can listen to Fox News articles!

Left-wing political activist Hasan Piker has identified American technologist Neville Roy Singham as the main financier behind a network of US non-profit organizations supporting communism that engage in “political rhetoric” and “many political protests,” the first sign of a public acknowledgment from someone inside the left-wing network that the organizations are politically affiliated with Singhnda.

The comments are important because congressional investigators and watchdog groups have long argued that Singham-linked nonprofits operate as overt political operations while receiving tax relief status. Critics say such activity could violate nonprofit tax laws, which place strict limits on the amount of political activity charities can contribute.

As Fox News Digital exclusively reported Saturday, the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued a subpoena against Piker and far-left CodePink founder Susan Medea Benjamin for violating sanctions on doing business with the Cuban Communist Party when they visited the island nation in March to meet with international opinion. “convoy.”

Piker and Benjamin have not responded to requests for comment, but have publicly defended their trip to March as a “humanitarian” mission to help the Cuban people.

About 37 minutes into the six-hour live broadcast on Monday, with the title, “FEDS ARE AFTER ME,” accompanied by two swearing emojis, Piker surprised an audience well-versed in left-wing networks by saying that he believes government investigators are finally targeting Singam and the organizations he supports, including Codeclareds CodePink and SWMUNIER’s self-Party. Socialism and Liberation, for the “political” work they do.

Together, these groups and others in the Singham network organized, coordinated and operated most of the anti-US street protests the country has seen in the past decade. The Party for Socialism and Liberation is called “PSL” by far-left activists.

“I think ultimately the target is Singham and his work from PSL to ANSWER Coalition to CodePink – like anything he’s ever funded,” Piker said during the broadcast.

A five-part Fox News Digital investigation published in March, the week of the Cuban group, documented how Singham collected 278 million dollars, starting in 2017 after his marriage to CodePink founder Jodie Evans, into a network of six non-profit organizations, which financially supported dozens of organizations around the world and participated in large international partnerships. messages and causes associated with the Chinese Communist Party.

The investigation also recorded Singham’s first appearance at the Shanghai conference in November 2025 at the Golden Tulip Hotel, where he praised Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party’s vision for a “new world order.”

Piker defended Singham during the live broadcast, saying the federal government was trying to crack down on activists funded by Singham, a wealthy ideological donor.

“And it’s not new, it’s been around for a long time,” said Piker.

Piker continued. “It’s f—ing absolutely ridiculous to try to stop the political representation of an American citizen.”

He continued: “Roy Singham is an American citizen. He lives in China now and he’s a billionaire. I think he’s worth almost a billion.” A centimillionare is a wealthy person with a net worth of at least $100 million.

In 2017, Singham sold his technology company, Thinkworks, for estimated $785 million, he began establishing a new network of shell companies and non-profit organizations in the US, from his Shanghai base, according to a Fox News Digital investigation.

Piker then described Singham as a “funding vehicle” for “many political movements.” The Singham network has deployed rapid response teams to protest US actions, including protests in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with protesters such as CodePink DC Coordinator Olivia DiNucci painting her hands red to denounce US military action in Iran. He protested alongside Benjamin outside the White House.

Piker said, “I’m not sure how much money he has now, but he was a vehicle for funding many political organizations in the country, like many activists, and they hate that—, so they’re trying to unite.”

“They’re trying to hit him with anything and everything they can. That’s the goal here. That’s the broad goal.”

Monday’s comments are notable because they are the first time a prominent network personality has publicly identified Singham’s role as supporting “political organizations” and “advocating politics” in the United States.

According to a Fox News Digital investigation, Singham has contributed $285 million to six organizations: $22.44 million to the People’s Forum, a communist organizing center in New York City; $1.33 million to CodePink; $68.7 million to the Justice and Education Fund Inc., a nonprofit that invests in anonymous projects overseas; $1.098 million to BreakThrough BT Media, the propaganda arm; and $16.76 million to Tricontinental Ltd., a pro-communist think tank. The Party for Socialism and Liberation and the ANSWER Coalition share office space at the People’s Forum and share leadership with the People’s Forum.

Several congressional committees – including the Senate Judiciary Committee, the House Judiciary Committee, the House Oversight Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee – have examined aspects of Singham’s funding network, particularly questions related to foreign influence, nonprofit compliance and political advocacy activities.

Investigators have focused on whether organizations that receive tax benefits are involved in political activism that exceeds the limit allowed under federal law. Piker’s description of Singham as sponsoring “political organizations” may now strengthen the investigation.

Piker is the Turkish-born nephew of Turkish-American political activist Cenk Uygur, founder of the Young Turks YouTube channel and founder of Justice Democrats, a social organization that helps elect far-left lawmakers including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib.

In recent years, Piker has risen to national prominence as one of the country’s most influential left-wing internet commentators, espousing Marxism despite critics calling him a “champagne socialist,” due to his penchant for wearing designer clothes, driving expensive cars and living the high life. Piker has drawn criticism even in social circles for living in a $2 million home in West Hollywood, California.

Piker made money from these hours-long live streams on a site called Twitch, popular with young online gamers. He speaks for hours on end, mostly without a script, free-flowing in a stream of observations that often include uproar, curses and condemnation of the nation where he made his fortune, repeating the talking points of America’s enemies including Russia, China, Cuba and Hamas, a terrorist organization. In his live stream on Monday, Piker bragged about buying a suit for a photoshoot he just finished in New York City over the weekend.

The news of the subpoena against Piker and Benjamin caused a widespread reaction from all activists and political circles, with figures and organizations far left behind Piker, and even Democratic leaders and activists mocked Piker for turning his back on the president of the Democratic Alliance Kamala Harris and now he is facing the scrutiny of the Trump administration.

Piker himself has used two streams since the news broke to criticize the investigation, describing it as politically motivated and portraying himself as a victim.

The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control enforces US sanctions and restrictions laws that apply to foreign governments, entities and individuals subject to the Treasury Department’s sanctions programs. In Washington policy circles, “OFAC” has become a verb and getting “OFAC’ed” is widely viewed as a serious escalation because it could indicate potential sanctions or violations of foreign duties.
