Spencer Pratt spoofs The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in an LA mayoral campaign ad

Los Angeles Mayor Spencer Pratt called himself “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

In an interview with Will Smith’s “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” theme from the popular 90s sitcom, Pratt tells the story of how the LA fires forced him to leave his Pacific Palisades home and cruise the streets of Los Angeles in his Airstream.

“West Los Angeles, the Palisades, in my backyard is where I spent most of my days,” Pratt rhymes, as seen on X. “Feeding the singing birds, resting all the cool, avoiding all the trash outside the school/When a few politicians, who had done nothing, started making trouble in my neighborhood/I went into one small fire and my mother in Airvescar said she was moving.”

At one point, Pratt sprayed paint, “They let us burn!” on a closed wall, before pulling into the deserted Bel-Air Hotel.

“I moved to my kingdom, I ended up here, to sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air,” he concluded the song.

“Now this is a story about how my life turned upside down,” he captioned.

Fans and critics were quick to voice their opinions.

“This is just amazing,” wrote another. “Your campaign continues to produce great media coverage that your competitors can’t match. That’s why your chances of becoming the next mayor of Los Angeles keep increasing. Go ahead! Save LA now!”

“Iconic and all true,” added another, with another fan saying Pratt is “a master at marketing.”

However, others were not so impressed.

“What LA needs is another failed tv star running for office,” one user wrote on X.

“We’re not voting for another reality tv opportunist who needs pay and attention,” added another.

Pratt, who announced his candidacy in January, has emphasized issues such as homelessness, public safety and government spending throughout his campaign, positioning himself as a political outsider challenging the status quo in Los Angeles and gaining support from voters dissatisfied with the current leadership.

According to a KTLA poll last week, current Mayor Karen Bass seemed to catch on his lead in the first election as Pratt and Nithya Raman also received support from undecided voters. According to a poll released Wednesday, Bass was leading the field in his re-election bid with 30% support, followed by Pratt with 22% and Councilman Raman with 19%.

In recent weeks, Pratt’s campaign has gained momentum after receiving high-profile donations, including a donation from Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, and receiving support from Hollywood’s elite.

Pratt’s mayoral campaign is here under scrutiny as he makes various accusations, including questions about his current status.

“It’s funny that they never attack my policy views,” the reality TV star added to separate post. “They can only try to kill your character. They don’t want to talk about my debate masterclass last week, they want to talk about the old reality show.”

“That’s because they want to continue the decline of the city,” Pratt he continued. “They’re locked in a dead mind and they can’t shake it. Come to my policies or sit down on the back bench. I’m on the field, son.”

Pratt had been staying at the Bel-Air Hotel for the past month while his wife and children stayed in Carpinteria, California, sources said. TMZ.
