Conservative activist Robby Starbuck scored a major legal victory against Google on Friday as his defamation lawsuit will be able to move forward, according to a Delaware Supreme Court decision.
Last October, Starbuck filed a lawsuit against Google seeking at least $15 million, alleging that the company’s artificial intelligence programs defamed him by falsely calling him a “monster” to millions of users in the form of “AI ideas.”
“The Court considers these allegations to be sufficient to support a claim for emotional distress damages at this point in the trial, as it is willing enough to continue to find and eliminate the allegations,” Judge Meghan Adams ruled in court.

Starbuck’s has claimed a victory to be found on social media.
“Was it directed to lie about me because of political prejudice, as their AI suspects? Was it a violent designer? A carelessly released product? An officer who wants this? Toxic training? Political work? We don’t know the answers to those questions yet but in the discovery we get to find those answers and put the people involved in our case,” Starbuck wrote about the light disinfectant on X. here. Discovery means we find out what Google knew, who knew it and why they allowed their AI products to continue to spread these horrible lies.”

Starbuck later wrote, “Google is one of the most powerful companies in the world. It may be the most powerful. But today, July 24th 2026, they failed to close the doors of the court. In short, David shot Goliath today. Why? Not because David is too great but because God exists and the human pursuit of justice is OK. Today is a war of rest to conquer all, now we are all my victory to conquer, now we are all my victory to win, but now we are all our victory.”

In a statement sent to Fox News Digital, Starbuck’s was surprised by the “historic decision.”
“As we enter an age where AI continues to dominate everything around us, we have to make sure it can’t harm people. What happened to me shouldn’t happen to anyone else,” Starbuck said. “We have to draw a line in the sand that the AI that’s being built can’t harm people whether it’s through humiliation or physical harm in the future. I hope this case can be a line in the sand. I’m looking forward to finding out where we can dive deeper into why and how this happened, and whether any political bias played a role.”
Google did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The lawsuit claims that Google’s AI platforms – Bard, Gemini and Gemma – have continued to display false statements about Starbuck since 2023, despite numerous cease and desist letters. These false statements include allegations that he is accused of sexual harassment, rape and torture.
The lawsuit also claims that Gemini itself “stated” that its alleged lies about Starbuck were shown to 2,843,917 unique users.

“The tipping point for me was when they accused me of child rape. That’s when I was like, ‘We’ve got to go ahead with the case. They’re obviously not taking this seriously. It’s escalated into something very serious and crazy,'” Starbuck previously told Fox News Digital.
Starbuck said the killing of Turning Point USA founder, Charlie Kirk, made him realize that “some crazy person would believe this,” which led him to make history.
