The Yankees announce Saturday night’s schedule against the Dodgers at the Stadium

NEW YORK – Around 3:40 p.m., the asphalt came off the field at Yankee Stadium.

Bad weather forecast Saturday night for Dodgers-Yankees, the middle game of a three-game set, with right-hander Emmet Sheehan (4-6, 4.81) vs. Yanks’ lefty Ryan Weathers (3-7, 4.15).

While the Yankees lost, 2-1, to the Dodgers on Friday night, something important happened in Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Max Fried (bone injury, left elbow) made his first minor league rehab start, throwing 52 pitches and giving up two runs (0 walks, 3 Ks) in three innings against the Red Sox affiliate.

Shortstop prospect George Lombard Jr., recently activated from the injured list (sprained fingers, left hand) went 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run.

Lombard has a chance to make an impact for the Yankees before September, while Fried will make at least one rehab start before rejoining the Yanks’ rotation.

Additionally, Carlos Rodon (left elbow inflammation) made 10 innings on the mound Friday, a precursor to his first bullpen session (still to be scheduled).

And right-hander Clarke Schmidt threw one shutout inning Saturday, his first session against live hitters since undergoing Tommy John surgery last summer.

Earlier on Saturday, the Yankees signed right-hander Bradley Hanner to a major league contract, optioned him to Triple-A, and transferred Aaron Judge (broken ribs) to the 60-day IL.

Here is Saturday night’s lineup for the Yankees…
