The IDF is eliminating Hamas terrorists linked to the American-Israeli hostage-taking

I Israel Defense Forces announced on Tuesday that it had killed a Hamas terrorist who helped kidnap American-Israeli hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who was eventually killed in the Gaza Strip.

The IDF said Yousef Ayesh Awad Ramadan, the deputy commander of the Hamas Nukhba terror group, was killed in the central Gaza Strip on Monday. The Nukhba, which is Arabic for the elite, are the special forces of the Al-Qassam Brigades, which is the military wing of Hamas.

“Ramadan entered Israeli territory during the massacre on October 7 and participated in the kidnapping of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eliya Cohen, Alon Ohel, and Or Levy in the Re’im Junction bomb shelter,” the IDF said on Tuesday.

“Furthermore, throughout the war, and in recent weeks, advanced terrorists planned attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians. Therefore, they posed an immediate threat to IDF forces operating in the Gaza Strip,” it continued.

Goldberg-Polin survived nearly 11 months in an underground tunnel following her kidnapping but survived killed along with other captives in August 2024, I am still in captivity. He was 23 years old when he died.

“According to our initial assessment, they were brutally killed by Hamas terrorists just before we reached them,” IDF spokesman Admiral Daniel Hagari said at the time.

Goldberg-Polin was kidnapped at a music festival in southern Israel during the October 7 Hamas attack against the Jewish State.

He lost part of his left arm to a bomb during the attack.

Elijah Cohen survived 505 days in captivity. He suffered severe starvation, was kept chained in a tunnel, and underwent surgery for a gunshot wound without anesthesia. He was released in February 2025 as part of a negotiated settlement.

Even though Levy survived 491 days in captivity. He endured difficult conditions and only found out after his release that his wife, Einav, had been killed in the attack on October 7. He has been reunited with his young son.

Alon Ohel spent more than two years as a hostage in Gaza until he was released in October last year.
