Spencer Pratt is seeking donations from business luminaries such as Jeanie Buss and Sofia Richie’s husband ahead of the Los Angeles mayoral primary.
According to the New York Times, powerful donors have been pouring into Pratt’s campaign since May 1. Buss and Elliot Grainge are reportedly among the donors.
In recent weeks, Pratt’s career has taken a hit following his widespread praise working on the mayoral debate with incumbent Karen Bass and LA City Council Member Nithya Raman and a series of viral campaign ads. The former “Hills” star made more than $500K and came in second in votes behind Bass ahead of the June 2 primary.

The Lakers executive’s contribution reflects Hollywood’s growing interest in recruiting Pratt, which has gained momentum following his criticism of city leadership after the 2025 Palisades fire.
Although Buss has yet to publicly endorse Pratt, his donation puts him among a growing list of entertainment industry figures supporting the former reality star as he challenges Bass.
