With the polls, the Sena parties are going for the jugular in the Dasara meetings

Dasara rallies in Maharashtra saw a face-to-face between Shiv Sena’s UBT leader Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena leader (Eknath Shinde group) and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. While the group of Mr. Thackeray has firmly established him as the CM for the upcoming District Assembly elections, Mr. Shinde answered him enthusiastically about his desire to become the Chief Minister. “Your friends can’t stand your face. How will the people of Maharashtra accept you?” he asked while speaking on Dasara at Azad Maidan, warning Mr. Thackeray not to play with him.

Mr. Thackeray also urged RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat to ask the centenary of the organization if he agreed with the BJP’s approach to eliminate his Shiv Sena. He said the BJP is doing ‘jihad for power’, and wants to retain power at any cost. He promised to build Chhatrapati Shivaji temples in every district of the State if voted to power, and criticized the BJP for its Hindutva, which was said to keep one party at war with another. Referring to Badlapur who is accused of raping Akshay Shinde by his last name only, Mr. Thackeray praised the way he was shot, but asked the government to clarify if it was done to protect those in power.

This Dasara was also the first time that Aaditya Thackeray gave a speech at Shivaji Park during a rally.

Criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Mr. Thackeray said: “This election is a battle to define the identity of Maharashtra. I will not let them loot Maharashtra till I live. This is the Maharashtra of Shahu-Phule-Ambedkar. I will not allow it to be Modi, Shah, Adani’s Maharashtra. “

In his 49-minute speech at Shivaji Park, he also showed a video clip of the oath he took as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra in November 2019, re-swearing all the Shiv Sainiks present at the meeting to “bring in Shivshahi.” Maharashtra with the same torch”. (The torch is the symbol of the Shiv Sena UBT party). The message is a clear signal not only to the ruling Mahayuti, but also to the Maha Vikas Aghadi, especially to the Congress which said the party with the highest number of seats will get the post of CM.

This Dasara gathering was unique for more reasons than one. It was the first time that Eknath Shinde spoke before Uddhav Thackeray. A confident Eknath Shinde, who was full-mouthed after the Haryana results, warned of deception, and reiterated the reason for the alleged ‘rebellion’ in the Shiv Sena party. He read a series of programs that his government has brought to the people, saying that speedy governance is the result of his leadership.

It was for the first time that Aaditya Thackeray spoke during the Dasara rally. Ever since he took over the reigns of the Yuva Sena, he had never addressed a Dasara meeting. “I have many memories. Every year, since my childhood, I used to sit here, on the grass, listening to my grandfather. I heard my father from this lady. In the last 14 years, I have never given a speech on this stage. There was a tradition in the family that the son does not speak in front of his father. My father never spoke in front of his father. And today, even though I am speaking, I will stop my speech as soon as my father comes here,” said Mr. Aaditya. He criticized the government saying that an official told him that “codes of conduct will not exist until Adani’s wishes are fulfilled”.

Message to RSS

“I want to ask BhagwatjiWho are you saying this to? Hindus should unite to protect themselves. Vishwaguru has been living there for 10 years now. Can you still protect Hindus after so many years? He is defending himself. If that is the message, why do you need Modi? If you say Hindus are in danger, Congress was better because they say Islam is in danger. Shiv Sena pramukh who supported it, his son stayed as CM and pulled him down. You are taking with you people who are not holding to run the government. You should check what you have done in 100 years. Do you agree with the current BJP? Today’s BJP is a hybrid. Some party leaders joined the BJP. And that BJP will rule us now? ” Mr. Uddhav Thackeray asked.

Directed Adani

Uddhav Thackeray attacked industrialist Gautam Adani and said that the Maharashtra government had given many free parcels to the Adanis. He also promised to cancel the Dharavi development project if he comes to power. Drawing parallels between Ratan Tata and Adani, he said some industrialists are remembered for what they did for the country, but others just took everything.

“It is rare for people to feel sad after the passing of an industrialist. Tata gave us salt. But today’s industrialists eat salt pans. (Referring to the salt pan land being given for rehabilitation to those affected by the Dharavi development project). Chandrapur mines, Bandra reclamation land, schools, dahisar land parcels check naka, mulund check naka. What was not given to Adani? We got this Mumbai after shedding our blood. Adani did not give it to us. If Modi says, Mangalsutra, taps will be taken away and given to Muslims, I want to ask Maharashtra government, will Adani mangalsutra be tied to us? We will not allow Mumbai, Maharashtra to be given to Adani,” he said.

Eknath Shinde criticizes Uddhav for Hindutva

Targeting Uddhav Thackeray on the core ideas of Hindutva, Eknath Shinde said: “Some people have started to disagree with the word ‘Hindu’ now. We don’t feel ashamed to say this word. But the useless people born in the Thackeray family, betrayed Hindutva. Today, we are free. This is the free Shiv Sena, which takes its original Hindutva ideas. When our government was formed, people said that this government will fall in about two months, a month, a few months. But this Eknath, your Eknath has survived it all and has completed two years in power. Don’t play with me. I am not running away from the battlefield. I will make you run away. I am a staunch Shivsainik.”

He said that Uddhav Thackeray had stopped many development projects as CM, and failed to bring progress in the Government. “Why did we establish this government? Do I need to tell you? We rose up against injustice. If we had not rebelled, the real Shiv Sainik would have been insulted, humiliated. Maharashtra would have been back in a few years. Today, we are leading in all sectors. We are the first State to give ₹12,000 to each farmer. 10 lakh brothers were given free training. We are the first State to do this. My sisters would not get justice. The government would not come to your door. Bullet train, Jalyukta Shivar, Marathwada water grid — speed breakers for all projects in their time. We kicked out the government that put speed breakers on everything. They don’t like my beard. But it is the magic of this beard that the MVA was lifted,” he said.

He also criticized Uddhav Thackeray for his opposition to Adani and the Dharavi development project. “He is trying to stop the Dharavi project. He built bungalows, one after the other. But people should immerse themselves in the swamps,” he said.

Surprised, he called Mr. Thackeray as ‘Moru’. “If we had not rebelled, what would have been the story of Maharashtra?” Moru would wake up, refresh and go back to sleep. Today, the same Moru is going to Delhi, seeking the post of CM, meeting others for this. There was a time when Delhi leaders used to come to Mumbai to meet Balasaheb. But someone goes to Delhi to seek the post of CM. Your friends don’t like your face. How will you like Maharashtra?”

Comparing the Union government to Mohammad Shah Abdali, Uddhav Thackeray said that Modi and Shah were trying to destroy him. He also asked Mohan Bhagwat to ask whether the RSS is doing well in the way the current BJP leadership is trying to eliminate him and his party. “Our war is like Mahabharat now. BJP is like Kauravs. They think that no other group should exist. Only one group should be present. Did you try to eliminate us? My people, the ones I trusted, are against me. Bhagwad Gita was told by Lord Shri Krishna. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj followed it,” he said.
