“Unfortunately, I don’t have the energy,” the 25-year-old gymnast said to herself. Us Weekly after the Tuesday, October 15 episode DWTS. “I mean, not many people understand how much dance comes out of your body.”
As an Olympian, Nedoroscik thought the physical aspects of ballroom dancing would be something she could handle — but the training is more difficult than she expected.
“Man, I thought since I’m such a good player I’ll be able to handle it,” Nedoroscik said. “But, my lord, I come back from training and I’m dead.”
Although Nedoroscik didn’t run his dances with McCracken, 26, before the show, he’s been by her side all season. McCracken attended all of her boyfriend’s games, cheering on the audience. Nedoroscik said Us that after every dance, McCracken shared that the last dance was “his passion”.
“It seems like every week it’s a new favorite, so I’ll have to ask him tonight how much he liked this one,” he said. “But I’m sure he’ll say this is his new favorite.”
Nedoroscik’s latest dance was an Argentine tango that focused on the male gym. (Nedoroscik and McCracken met in college where he was a member of Penn State’s men’s gymnastics team.)

“I want everyone to know, like, it’s happening. Look, I make the Olympic team, which I do [the] national team, I made it to the NCAAs, it was all very improbable,” Nedoroscik said. “But I just kept my head up and tried my best, and I want to let everyone know that [if they have] those dreams that they can achieve if they succeed.”
Despite the rigors of training, Nedoroscik committed to his performance each week and it paid off. During Tuesday’s episode, the athlete and his partner Rylee Arnold they scored 33 out of 40 as they were awarded the first nine of the season by judge Derek Hough.
“It was amazing. It was the goal to enter,” said Nedoroscik about this success. “It seems like I say it every week that we are reaching our goal. But this night was special.”
During the dance, Nedoroscik was able to show off his pommel horse skills as he did at the Paris Olympics.
“I was really able to hold myself in the same way by doing the pommel horse and holding that as I do the other dance,” he said. Us. “So, that part was lovely.”
Arnold, 19, echoed similar sentiments, saying that Nedoroscik’s confidence shined through.
“Stephen goes into this mode when he walks and does his pommel horse duties. And it works well for Argentine Tango because he was in that game-face mode,” he said. “So, it was really helpful to have that. And I think it was the way we honed ourselves with this character that he had today. “
