In a new development in the suicide case of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, his estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, who was arrested a few days later as a fugitive, has completely denied her ex-husband’s allegations of abuse. When questioned by the police, Nikita said that, instead, it was Atul who abused her.
Atul Subhash, from Bihar’s Samastipur, is accused of being abused by his wife and in-laws, who he says pushed him to take such a drastic step.
Nikita Singhania shared that she was living separately from her ex-husband, Atul, for almost three years. He told himself that he would not stay away if he harassed her for money.
Bengaluru police recently arrested Nikita Singhania from Gurugram. Nikita’s mother, Nisha, and her brother, Anurag, were arrested from Prayagraj. After their arrest, all three were brought to Bengaluru and produced in court.

Atul Subhash, 34, was found dead in his flat on Monday. A 24-page suicide note was found with the words “Justice is deserved” at the top of each page. A 90-minute video featuring Subhash went viral on social media, sparking widespread discussions among users about social abuse.
In the video, the expert cited domestic issues as the cause of her death, including eight false police complaints and an allegedly biased family court judge in Jaunpur. Atul had mentioned in his letter that his in-laws were harassing him for money. He also apologized to his parents for failing to take care of them when they were old.
Atul’s family expressed dismay at the system that says there are laws in the country for women, not men. Atul had revealed that his wife’s family wanted Rs 3 crore as divorce settlement.
In his suicide note and video, Atul said he married Nikita in 2019 after meeting her on a matchmaking website. Subhash alleged that Nikita and his family used to demand huge sums of money to start businesses. When he refused, tensions escalated, leading Nikita to leave their home in 2021, taking their son with them.
