BBMP elected council

It has been four years since BBMP last had an elected council. In September 2025, it will be five years. Will public votes be held then?

Big ticket projects

The city administration will raise loans up to Rs 46,000 crore by 2025 for the Peripheral Ring Road and Tunnel Road projects.

Controversial programs

Despite opposition from the public, the BBMP is expected to go ahead with the whitewashed highways, including the CBD. The BBMP is also planning to finalize the land for the Skydeck project, another plan that the citizens have asked many times.

Metro expansion

After several delays, the much-awaited Yellow Line, covering 18 kilometers between RV Road and Bommasandra, is expected to become operational in early 2025.

Renewable energy

The State’s first waste-to-energy facility at Bidadi is likely to open in January 2025. An EV charging station with battery storage system at Devanahalli is also expected to be commissioned in the early months of this year. KERC is poised to pass its first multi-year tax order in 2025.

National Education Policy

The State Education Policy Commission (SEP), headed by Sukhadeo Thorat, is expected to submit its final report by February 2025. It will be implemented in Karnataka in the academic year 2025-26.

AI in policing

Bengaluru Police will focus by 2025 on integrating AI in law and order, crime detection, cybercrime prevention, and traffic laws.
