West Bengal: Bangladeshi soldiers want to fence the border in Malda, Indian citizens are entering


Tension has escalated along the Indo-Bangladesh border in West Bengal after a verbal altercation broke out between personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) over the ongoing fencing work.

According to local sources, the incident took place near Sukdebpur village in Malda district where BSF jawans were busy fencing on the Indian side of the border and Bangladeshi personnel were opposing it.

The conflict quickly escalated, prompting a group of civilians from the Indian side to gather and chant pro-India slogans in support of the Border Security Force jawans. A video of this incident is spreading on social media showing a group of people from this area chanting slogans like this “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, “Vande Matram” again “Jai Shri Ram”.

It is reported that this situation has been disrupted for a while as the BGB has expressed concern. However, the BSF said that the issue was resolved quickly as the Indian side assured the BGB that the fencing work has been approved by both nations.

Work resumed after a brief interruption, with standard Border Control communication protocols being followed.

“During the fencing, there was a temporary disruption as the Border Guards in Bangladesh objected to the operation. However, the BSF assured the BGB that the operation had been previously approved by both countries,” BSF sources said. India Today TV.

Sharing the viral video, BJP leader and West Bengal leader Suvendu Adhikari praised the locals and the BSF for their quick response, saying that the presence of nationalist sentiments among the community helped the BGB personnel retreat.
