An Israeli drone filmed the last minutes of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in a building in Gaza as the mastermind of the attack that killed Israel on October 7 last year threw wood from the drone before he was killed.
In the raw footage, which is said to be Sinwar’s last moments before he was taken away, an injured Sinwar is seen sitting alone on a bed in a demolished building. This video was posted by Lt Col Nadav Shoshani, spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), on X.
Sinwar finally realized that there was a plane flying near him and he tried to make a phone call with a stick but to no avail as the Israeli military ordered a strike on the building, killing the leader of Hamas and two other activists of this group.

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari, who later spoke to the media in Tel Aviv, recounted the tragedy and said that Israeli forces had identified three “terrorists” who were running from house to house in the Tal El Sultan area of ​​Rafah. He added that Sinwar was shot in the hand while he and two others were firing at IDF soldiers while the Hamas leader took refuge in a building that was attacked by Israeli forces.

Hagari, during the press conference, played a video in which Sinwar was shown approaching the IDF, covered and with a wound on his hand. Sinwar was found with a gun and 40,000 shekels (£7,700), Hagari said, adding: “He was running away and we killed him.”
Finally, IDF soldiers fired a mortar shell at a tank that hit a building and killed Sinwar and other Hamas soldiers.
“To the people of Gaza, I have a simple message. This war could end tomorrow. It will only end if Hamas lays down its arms and returns our hostages. Israel will guarantee the safety of all those who return our hostages,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after Sinwar’s execution.
