As the counting of the union budget begins, Tech Mahindra CEO and industry veteran CP Gurman emphasized the need to focus on Upskilling programs and computer infrastructure.
Speaking to PTI, Gurnani highlighted that India’s technology sector is $250 billion and six billion dollars and that the support of the government in terms of skills and growth is needed for it to be successful.
“India’s exports are about $250 billion in the technology sector. And we said that in order to be successful, I think we need to spend a lot more on growth and growth.
We need to involve Academia. We need to involve the schools … we will need the support of the government there,” he said.
He also highlighted the need for a more distributed and cost-effective computing infrastructure.
Gurnani, who recently started AI Venture, Aiosos, noted that innovations are important to support the growth of the technology sector.
He expressed confidence in the government’s response to the proposals. “The computing infrastructure, it has to be more distributed, it’s more expensive.
We need to anticipate how we find the future of technology, even if there are tricks or new developments happening. And I’m very happy. I know that Prime Minister Modi’s administration is very open.
“In the past, whenever Nasscom and we have gone and met the office of the Prime Minister or the Minister of Mr. Agwini Vaishnav, they are open to answer.
Turning to domestic production, he acknowledged the development of basic infrastructure, such as roads and digital communications.
He referred to India’s digital infrastructure as “World-Class” and emphasized that the country should aim for “ambitions to disrupt.”
