Two teachers of teachers

In his story Two mindsWendell Berry, sufficiently enough, offers two tones in the imagination produced by two types of ‘mind-minded, and sympathetic.

One is driven by logic, reduced, data and measurement, one of love and other fashions – the environment, happiness and faith. These minds are fighting to show in our integrated behavior. That is, they both want to control our actions – what we say and do.

Berry describes their differences:

“A reasonable sense of being motivated by fear is being misled, because what is wrong. Its purpose is to get rid of everything that is unemployed or examining the truth.

The compassionate mind motivated by fear of a very different type: apathetic, non-love error. Their purpose is to consider anything, leaving nothing. “

It is not surprising that these two minds exist in education. These are the natural things you have been with a teacher – the teacher, manager, engineer, or designer. Likely as a parent and if you have children. The need to be sensible and strengthened and conforming to the mixed strategies with great difficulty and conditions you face.

He was told that he was based on the data – that is, designing experiences of the ‘Strategi’ are raised on a certain amount of action taken.

Could you plan for lessons and units by asking yourself, why is this teaching plan? Why is this test form? Why is a team at this time in a lesson more than that point? Why is this level of this novel?

This is your reasonable mind.

But your logical mind is in another form of thinking – in fact, raised and promoted in the kind of insecurity that is incomparable job and doing what you need about (installing your content here).

The logical mind (same mind drags policies and standards) wants to attach the work-to-answer logic. Certainly, rightly, and by analyzing.

So rather than worry that this student Unable to read And the student is a bright artist ready for the expert Counselor to encourage his gift and this student needs to be angry with your scholarship, responding to analysis. Your logical mind takes over.

He looks at the barracks and skim graphs and the SKIM books with Marzano and Hattie writing techniques to teach their sensible minds. You listen to your colleagues, your teaching trainer, and another person is willing to give advice. Then you teach, test, restored, inspecting, and emphasized, and continues.

You know well, however, to tear something done well. Separate the student in their human conditions – their interests, past experience, self-confidence, and love.

Academic content from their traditional schema.

Ability from curiosity.

Scientific concepts from scientific use.

Level to learning in learning love.

A logical concept does not include curiosity, love, love, and happiness because it doesn’t mind. We live in the years of knowledge it becomes the age of enlightenment. In the formation, data and rationality cannot endure extract and personality or impair them separately and confusion.

But this requires repair of our part. We have to give up hardship with our findings in our students. Ignoring. Disturbance. Superficiality.

As a category, they are now not conducted only but the ultimate research and science and materialism, as riding our work ‘and’ and the community. ‘

We leave us up to teachers to meet with a collision between students from policy, or standards of barren lessons and communities that require more than learning technology. But if we ‘consider anything we are “and we want to leave anything,” we now see that the pure is not’ mind, but the normal reaction to our work scale.

The challenge of you and now may I raise more than the words in marriage – to join our logical and compassionate mind.

Every time we persevere, no matter what, that we do not change in treatment or even in mind, but instead of “both educators in all our organizations and the learner’s important model.
