Train Accident in Tamil Nadu: In the wee hours of Friday, 11 October, an Express train collided with a goods train in Tamil Nadu, injuring several passengers and causing one of the coaches to catch fire. According to the Railway Board, no injuries have been reported so far in the train collision, which occurred at the Ponneri-Kavarapettai power station in the Chennai Rail Division.

The Mysuru-Dibrugarh Express (Train No. 12578) passed through Ponneri station at 8:27 pm on October 11, and despite receiving a green signal, the train wrongly turned into a siding while entering Kavarapettai station, according to Southern Railway, another of areas used by Indian Railways.
