In an interview with crypto-focused YouTube channel Altcoin Daily, financial veteran and founder of SkyBridge Capital Anthony Scaramucci revealed his top altcoins to buy and hold in 2025. Scaramucci, the former White House Communications Director and long-time Wall Street expert, provided his insights on various crypto assets—starting with his bullish stance on Ethereum (ETH) and extending to the list of altcoins he believes will play a role important in shaping the future of distributed technology.
Ethereum: The Long-Term Crypto Winner
Scaramucci first identified Ethereum as one of his key options for the coming years. According to him, Ethereum’s market outlook has undergone cyclical changes, which he likens to trends that go “out of fashion.” Reflecting on his decades of experience in traditional finance, Scaramucci explained:

“When I entered the industry, biotech stocks were hot, then they turned to insurance stocks, and then it was the world of investments otherwise in hedge funds. […] We go through waves and cycles of what’s in and out of fashion. And surprisingly, Ethereum is kind of going out of fashion a little bit, which I’m surprised about because it has very good applications and it has a muscularity to it. […] and has dominion. So I believe that Ethereum is a winner, and I think it is a long-term winner. “
The billionaire investor emphasized Ethereum’s strong ecosystem, highlighting its wide use and proven track record. His view is that while new blockchains may offer speed and lower costs, Ethereum still holds an important position as the smart contract platform of choice for countless embedded applications (dApps) and protocols.
Solana (SOL)
After confirming his faith in Ethereum, Scaramucci focused on Solana (SOL), talking about its efficiency and cost effectiveness: “I think Solana is cheap and fast, and now that network is holding a large volume. It has a good intersection of different things going on […] Solana is very long. I will be fully exposed and tell you that.”
Polkadot (DOT)
Continuing his research on promising altcoins, Scaramucci singled out Polkadot (DOT) for its potential in Web3 and gaming: “I own Polkadot. I love what Polkadot is able to do in the gaming industry, and I still strongly believe that Web3 gaming will happen. […] There will be a kind of Renaissance there. “

He drew an analogy between today’s Web3 streaming environment and the era of VHS tapes and Blockbuster video. While it may be difficult to envision the full potential of blockchain-based gaming experiences right now, Scaramucci believes that Polkadot’s user-centric platform could be useful in powering the digital ecosystem that lies just above it.
Avalanche (AVAX)
Scaramucci didn’t stop there, briefly touching on Avalanche (AVAX) as another network he foresees doing well in the broader crypto market. Although he provided few specific details, his endorsement points to Avalanche’s known strengths—solidity, fast execution, and a growing number of financial (DeFi) projects. “I think the Avalanche will do well,” he said.
Algorand (ALGO)
Turning to Algorand, Scaramucci shared information from his holdings, which he kept for four years. Acknowledging the changes in the management of this stadium, however, he remains optimistic: “I think.” [Algorand] he lost a step when they made some management changes, but there’s a guy named John Wood there […] I think he’s a very intelligent man, and he’s putting some things together there, and I think some of it is being underestimated.”
Sui and Aptos
Rounding out his altcoin picks, Scaramucci also named Sui (SUI) and Aptos (APT) as projects with strong long-term prospects: “Sui and Aptos—I’m a long-term believer in those as well. I don’t think there will be one chain.”
Finally, Scaramucci expressed his broad view of the crypto asset landscape, emphasizing Bitcoin as the undisputed market leader, yet stressing that other blockchains will play an important role: “Bitcoin is the pope, but there is a college of cardinals… that will be very useful . depending on what their applications and networks end up being over the next five to fifteen years.”
At press time, ETH traded at $3,319.
