Holland, 28, appeared on the Thursday, October 17, episode of the “Rich Roll” podcast, where she shared how excited she was to read the script with her costar.
“We have the creative and we have the pitch and the draft, which is great,” said Holland, who has played Spider-Man in six Marvel movies. “It takes work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago and it really resonated with me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and sometimes we bounced around the living room. Like, this is a real movie that deserves the respect of the fans.”

Casting information for the film has not been announced, but Holland and Zendaya, who plays MJ, are expected to reprise their roles.

Holland has yet to confirm his return, but has previously said he would be open if the script did his character justice.
“All I can say is that we’ve been involved in discussions about what a fourth version of my character might look like,” Holland said in November 2023. “Whether or not we can find a way to do the character justice is another thing.”
“I feel very secure in Spider-Man,” he added. “I feel very fortunate that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each film, that became more successful with each film, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy. Therefore, I will not do one for the sake of doing another. It will have to be like the actor’s time.”

In addition to teasing the script, Holland told the podcast that putting together a Marvel movie presents its own challenges in terms of fitting the story into the universe.
“One of the things is, with Marvel, your movie is a small cog in a big machine,” he explained. “That machine must continue to work. You have to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to achieve the big picture. That is one of the challenges we face. The time we have to do that is a long process but we can achieve it with the people we are working on now.”
