Three coaches of the Secunderabad-Shalimar Express depart from Bengal at Nalpur

Three coaches of the Secunderabad-Shalimar Weekly Special train derailed at Nalpur, West Bengal, on Friday morning, the Railways said.

One parcel van and two coaches of 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar Weekly Express derailed while passing through Nalpur station in Kharagpur Division at 5:31 am, according to a statement by the Chief Public Relations Officer of South Eastern Railway.

There were no immediate reports of casualties, the CPRO said.

Emergency trains and medical aid trains from Santragachi and Kharagpur reached the site of the collapse.

Buses were arranged to transport stranded passengers to their destinations.

The restoration work was ongoing.
