The US housing market has another year in the books after 2024 ends this week.
While the median of those homes for sale came in at $383,725 in the four weeks ending Dec. 22, according to Redfin, other US home transactions brought in more outstanding prices than that.
Redfin has identified the homes that have commanded the highest prices in 2024. The company told FOX Business that its list, previously reported by Forbes, only includes sales that were public and listed on the MLS.
There were also eight and nine off-market transactions during the year, according to reports.
Properties that Redfin said saw the five biggest price increases by 2024 include:
Home in Carpinteria, California: $96 million
The home, built in 2007, was purchased over the summer, fetching $96 million, according to Redfin.
Five bedrooms and multiple bathrooms are part of the 9,000 square feet of this property.
The building is “built in the humble Tuscan Farmhouse style,” says the description on Redfin.
Its area exceeds 10 hectares, including a lot of frontage on the water.
There is a large pool behind the house, according to the pictures.

Home in Aspen, Colorado: $77 million

The sale of an Aspen, Colorado home called “The Ranch at Owl Creek” for $77 million took place in April.
The property, spread over 60 acres, was described in its listing as a “volcanic area” not far from Snowmass and Buttermilk, two popular ski resorts in the area.
It’s complete with a “heated swimming pool, two hot tubs, a petting pond, a fitness center, a theater and a wine cellar,” according to the listing.
Inside the house are eight bedrooms, including a “beautiful” master suite. It has multiple full bathrooms and three half baths. Six fireplaces can also be found throughout.
The home itself is over 12,600 square feet. It was built in 2005.
Home in Miami Beach, Florida: $72.25 million
A 12,500-square-foot contemporary home that cost $72.25 million in Miami Beach is located on the shores of Biscayne Bay. It has nine bedrooms.
According to the listing, the home includes “maid/in-law quarters.” There’s also a wet bar and a “den/library/office.”
Its waterfront lot is 0.58 acres, according to the listing.
The eight-figure sale occurred in October, according to Redfin.

Home in Aspen, Colorado: $66.5 million
Aspen was home to one of the properties that Redfin found did not have the largest number of sales for 2024.
The $66.5 million five-bedroom home was purchased in late April. Pitkin County Assessor records listed a limited liability company as the new owner.
It was built on more than 9,000 square feet in downtown Aspen, according to Redfin.
Before the transaction in April, the property had just changed hands in 2022, when it sold for $20.5 million, according to public records.
Home in Carpinteria, California: $65 million

The $65 million Carpinteria mansion, purchased in mid-November, occupies three parcels on a bluff overlooking the ocean, according to the property description on Redfin. The lot is about 12 acres combined.
The large house was built with five bedrooms and nine bathrooms. In total, it offers 10,900 square meters.
A buyer can “enjoy direct access to Loon Point Beach, 24/7 guarded security, and a unique opportunity to develop two remaining parcels to create the ultimate beachfront estate,” according to the description.
Carpinteria, where the estate is located, is about 11 miles east of Santa Barbara.

Some of the homes that Redfin identified as being sold in some of the most expensive deals in 2024 also went for eight figures, such as one in Los Angeles that was bought for $62.8 million, another in Miami Beach that had a sale price of $62.5 million and a Reno. – a local house that received a sale of 62 million dollars.
