The new year has begun, and Lego is celebrating in style by completely throwing the last few months of the year out the window big number of new sets starting January 1. It’s time to put away those shiny stacks of plastic bricks you just got for Christmas to look at what’s next, even new and shiny plastic bricks on the way this month: from sets big and small to Marvel, DC, star Warsmany more.
January is traditionally one of the biggest months of the Lego calendar year in terms of the total number of new sets released, whether it’s crossing the brickmaker’s established lines like City, Creator, Dreamzzz, Monk Kidand more, for major brand crossovers like Disney, Marvel and DC Superhero lines, and of course, Lego star Wars since last year’s blockbuster anniversary. But there’s a lot more this month than that, especially on the gaming front and the long-awaited arrival of Mario Kart line, and the return of the classic Lego Space. Lego Icons Sets

Lego’s adult-oriented iconic series is starting the year strong with some big releases, including the latest city building, inspired by British art history, and something to please the nostalgia centers of any old Space fan with the return of the villainous Blacktron. But there are also a few other top-down sets, like the luxurious Fountain Garden display, and a historic replica of Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous flying machine design (which, of course, comes with the first Leonardo Da Vinci minifigure. ?).

After the Island’s big additions last year, the Animal Crossing The line starts things off a bit in 2025, but with a few keys New Horizons additions, such as the arrival of a clothing store for Sisters Who Know.

3-in-1 Lego models are always a fun draw, but this month’s highlights for fans of sci-fi and fantasy are the beautiful Green Dragon, which feels like a throwback to the classic Lego Castle, and the fascinating Space Robot—who, more . importantly, it can also be designed to be Good Space Robot dog!

Lego is slowly but surely bringing back the DC superhero line, and sure enough, of course still especially Batman (including a very entertaining version of the Nolan trilogy’s tumbler this month), but hey! There’s at least one Superman set this month too!

It’s on again, the Clone Wars has! The prequel trilogy and The Clone Wars are the focus of this month star Wars sets, and a few new ones The Mandalorian drops, including the latest Grogu build, which even comes with a hover pram to sit on.

I Super Mario the line paves the way Mario Kart this month, and as always with these collaborations, it has never been what people expect: outside there are advanced electronic playable figures. Super Mario sets, and instead the cars and passengers they build… and nary a minifigure to be found, as usual.

Finally, the latest wave of blind-boxed collectible Minifigures brings steampunk boys, cute monsters, and flying racers to add to your shelf, with 12 new minifigures to discover. ($5 per box, available here)
