The Warriors are reportedly ‘in hot pursuit’ of Nets guard Dennis Schröder

The Golden State Warriors are “in serious pursuit” of Brooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schröder, according to a report from ESPN on Saturday.

Schröder, 31, is in the midst of a breakout season with the Nets, averaging 18.4 points, 6.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game in 23 starts this season. He will anchor a Warriors team that is back in title contention this season with a 14-10 record, good enough for No. 5 in the Western Conference.

The Nets acquired Schröder in a trade with the Toronto Raptors in February. Schröder signed a two-year, $25.4 million contract with Toronto through 2023 that expires this summer.

The unofficial start of the NBA trade season is Sunday, December 15, when most of the players who signed contracts last summer become eligible for trade. The NBA trade deadline is February 6.
