One plane left the hangar this season.
The New York Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh in October, making them the first NFL franchise to make a major move on the sidelines this offseason.
Five weeks into the year, the Jets, many favorites to be Super Bowl contenders in 2024, sit in a tough spot at 2-3.
They beat Tennessee and New England, and their losses came at the hands of San Francisco, Denver and Minnesota.
Now, 12 games in, they are 3-9, with one win since Saleh’s firing.
Aaron Rodgers & Co. they have been receiving orders from a new head coach, in the form of former defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, who has been serving as interim coach.
But will Ulbrich land a full-time gig before next season?

Detroit’s Ben Johnson and former Titans coach Mike Vrabel are tied as the favorites to eventually take the Jets job. Johnson was arguably the hottest name on the coaching market this past season, alongside Jim Harbaugh, who came with the Los Angeles Chargers.
In 2023, the Lions offense, under Johnson, was in the top five in the NFL, averaging 394.8 yards per game (third) and 27.1 points per game (fifth). Detroit rode that offense to an NFC title game berth last season.
This season, the 11-1 Lions are averaging 395.2 yards per game (second) and 31.9 points per game (first).
As for Vrabel, he served as the head coach of the Titans for six seasons, from 2018-2023.
At Tennessee, he put together four consecutive winning seasons before falling below .500 in his final two years.
He guided the Titans to the AFC title game in 2019.
Time for the Jets to bench Aaron Rodgers after falling to 3-9?
Rex Ryan, who coached the Jets for six seasons, from 2009-2014, is third on the oddsboard.
He compiled an overall record of 46-50, but led New York to AFC Championship Game appearances in his first two seasons.
He then spent two seasons as the head coach of the Bills, in 2015 and 2016, where he went 15-16 overall.
