Tivy coach Ed Devollis announced his retirement on Wednesday after training 426 games over the Academy season.
Dechellis, 66, passing by Ben Cristevale (417) many certified sports at school at the beginning of this season. He walked in 196-20 in Zavy, including 15-19 this season.
“It has been a great honor to serve in Naval Academy and I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to train many special young men,” DeFellis said. “I would like to thank (Director of athletes) Chet Rychuk for giving me the opportunity in the past 14 years and support and amazing leadership during my employment.
“The Naval Academy represents a collection of time that make up the bed of our nation. I owe my gratitude to all players who put our full-time players and court.”
Dechellis also trained East Tennessee State (1996-2003) and the Penn State (2003-2011) before this article in Navy. Both schools made the NCAa tournament at his last season as a coach. In 2009, he directed Penn State in the title of the NIT.
Overall, Dechellis had 415-461 record and exterminate 100 winning each school.
Devhellis’ Streak for 29 cases as the Heather Cose Six – the longest in NCAA Mailme, Track Rick Barnes (38), Tom Izzo (30) and Steve Alford (30).
The Associate Jon Perry coach was named a temporary trainer. Navy said it would drive the National New Coach.
