Yesterday’s press release proved once again that there is nothing the mainstream media loves more than crazy nuts who claim to be Bitcoin creators.

In honor of White Paper Day, the latest event, billed as the unveiling of the “legal identity” of Satoshi Nakamoto, attracted the press, including the BBC, which was caught up in the Craig Wright scandal in 2016. (Wright was later ruled not to be Satoshi.)
Even that innovation didn’t stop their reporters from interviewing the latest man to claim – without proof – that he created Bitcoin, though.
This time, our fake Satoshi is Stephan Mollah.
No, this is not the first time Mollah has pulled this trick. He sued the crypto exchange Coinbase in 2021, claiming that they stole his company’s name, at the time claiming that Satoshi Nakamoto was his fake name and identity.
Long story short, the claim was so outlandish that there is even an online survey company using Mollah as a way to advertise the effectiveness of their software.
You can follow a series of BBC reports about the highlights, full of his empty statements, and complaints from journalists about what they should cover, including the “very easy to manipulate screenshots” he shows.
“I created Bitcoin technology, but I’m not happy with it,” said Mollah. “I have proof of all that, but I’m here to make a statement.”
Mollah promised to reveal the true details one day, finally showing the event for what it was, a false announcement.
Still, after all the hoopla over the HBO documentary, which tried so hard to fake Satoshi that was revealed earlier this month, I have to say, Mollah is somewhat refreshing.
This is how everything Satoshi Nakamoto shows should be – complete sideshows, without any meaningful plots. Hopefully, if we get enough of this, we will convince the media to end the fruitless search for Satoshi’s true identity.
