Although PETA sought an urgent hearing on the petition on the grounds that the kambala in Bengaluru was scheduled to be held on Saturday, the court was informed that the second kambala program in Bengaluru could not be held on that day as claimed by the petitioners’ association. .
Following this petition, a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice NV Anjaria and Justice KV Aravind adjourned the hearing of the petition, in which PETA sought a direction from the government not to grant permission for kambala in Bengaluru as it would be a commercial event.
When PETA’s lawyer commented to the court about the request of the director of Pilikula Biological Park in Mangaluru to hold the kambala near the park as the animals in the park will be disturbed, the Bench said that it will examine the matter the next day. to hear.
