During a press conference on September 27, Robyn Gatens, director of the ISS program at NASA, told the media that the ISS leak is being actively repaired at the station, reducing the leak rate by about a third.
Although the source of the air leak has not been determined, NASA reported that the agency is currently investigating the situation and will work with Roscosmos in an effort to bring the situation to an acceptable conclusion. However, according to the OIG report, NASA stated that Roscosmos remained “confident that it would be able to monitor and close the hatch in the Service Module before the leak rate reached an unacceptable level,” the report said.
