TreeHouse Foods Inc. expanded its waffle recall to include all products produced in the same facility and still within their shelf life due to the potential for listeria contamination.
The company is now recalling all of its frozen toaster, Belgian waffle and pancake products after additional testing was conducted at the manufacturing facility, according to an updated notice sent by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The first recall, announced by the FDA last week and covering certain frozen waffle products, came after routine inspections at the manufacturing site revealed a potential risk.

The most recent recalled products were distributed across the US in various formats under brand names including Bettergoods, Walmart’s new private label, 365 Organic, by Whole Foods Market and Target’s Good and Gather.
According to the recall notice, the products were sold at many stores, including Albertson’s, Aldi, Dollar General, HEB, Kroger, Publix, Target, Wegmans and Walmart.
To date, there have been no reports of illness linked to any of the recalled products to date. However, government officials say anyone who is concerned should contact a health care provider.

The organism can cause severe and sometimes fatal illnesses in young children, the frail or elderly, and others with weakened immune systems, state health officials said. Infection with Listeria monocytogenes can cause miscarriage and stillbirth in pregnant women.
Healthy people may suffer from temporary symptoms such as high fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
