Minutes after NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai’s Bandra East on Saturday evening, News18 he got the first picture of the three who allegedly opened fire on him.
Siddique, 66, a former Congress and Maharashtra minister, was rushed to Lilavati Hospital but was declared brought dead. He joined the Ajit Pawar-led NCP earlier this year in February.
Mumbai police have arrested two of the three suspects, who are currently being interrogated. One suspect is from Uttar Pradesh, and the other is from Haryana. The third suspect is still at large, efforts to arrest him are ongoing. The investigation has been transferred to the crime branch.
Pictures of Siddique’s car also surfaced, showing bullet marks. It is reported that Siddique was inside his car when the three opened fire on him, resulting in his death.

The incident took place outside the office of his son Zeeshan Siddiqui near Colgate Ground in Nirmal Nagar. Zeeshan is the Member of Parliament from Bandra East and belongs to the Congress party.
Meanwhile, the police have formed five teams to investigate the case. Sources within the Mumbai police said they will also look into the Boshnoi angle as part of the investigation. A 9.9 mm pistol was used in the contract killing incident.
