Collector S. Venkateswar on Monday (December 30) said that the controversial issue involving Settipalli land on the outskirts of the city will be resolved by the upcoming Sankranti.
Speaking at the ‘Revenue Sadassu’ in the village, he said that the process related to four buildings will be given to the beneficiaries on January 5 and the other two buildings by Sankranti, solving 85% of the problem. Tirupati MP Arani Srinivasulu and MCT Commissioner N. Mourya were there.
The Settipalli land parcels have been embroiled in controversy for more than six decades due to registrations made many times in the past. Last week, CMO Secretary PS Pradyumna, who has served as the District Collector in the past, insisted on clearing the issue early, while participating in the Revenue Sadassu in Srikalahasti.
The Revenue and Municipal officials, there are various ministers and the District Collector, will sit for several periods to find a solution. “Those who are not happy [possession] the land will be allocated 1.5 cents,” said Mr. Venkateswar, though he refused to give any respite to those living in the slums of Poramboke.
MLA Srinivasulu said that Education Minister Nara Lokesh has announced to build an IT Hub on 147 acres in Settipalli, which shows its future growth potential.
